Connect wifi chip to send data to a display

Am I asking too much if I say I want to stream some video output from my PC sent over WiFi to a little display and I want some directions from someone?

I am not asking for a step-by-step tutorial, I just need need to know what components I should use for it...

Of course I need the display (any restrictions for it?), power source and here I need help: a WiFi module should be sufficient for the task or I need some RAM memory? Or it is better use some WiFi development-kit like Spark Core or some WiFi module from Microchip Technology.

If I am indeed asking for too much so just say for me to google more (not that I am not already doing it).

Best would be to use a wireless HDMI solution (Amazon for example). If you want to build it from scratch you need much experience in the field of DSP and wireless communications.
