I've been simulating the high speed traces on my PCB and with all the simulation results I see sort of an "oscillation" occurring at predictable intervals. Looking at the S21 parameter it appears that every 2.5GHz this pattern repeats. Can someone explain to me why the trace would fluctuate like that instead of just a steady decline?
