Interest to learn about electric powered vehicles

Hey,
I recently obtained an interest in electrical engineering in the aspect of designing and building an electric car/motorcyle. So far I have not much experience and no idea of what goes on in a circuit so I'm looking for any books that will help me get an idea of what needs to be done.

So basically I want to know everything about motor controls, what AC and DC is and popular uses for them, AC to DC conversion, DC to AC..., different types of motors, etc.

It would be great if anyone can find me a book on this but anything will help. I just want to be able to make an electric motorcycle and tune things while knowing what im doing

Have a look at electric bikes, these things are evolving faster than the road legislation can keep up, the speeds attainable are quite high to the point of being dangerous.
There are countless web pages on E-bikes, with a lot of interesting work going on. Visit some of the forums, they are very useful sources of info on drive trains, and are often very responsive to inquiries, and they deal with many non electronic types. Some forum members with a non technical background might make claims that don't stack up in reality,for that reason you need a little caution as well, but over all I think you might find it a useful place to start,
