Hi,

Why would you have power returns on a 24V automotive system?

This is a military vehicle and it says, Power IN - Power Bulkhead, Return IN - Returns Bulkhead

Hi,

First think of its as a motor-generator, a motor can work as a generator in some way. That goes the same with automotive. The automobile is a good example of motor at the same time generator system. If your familiar with the alternator, that is the one that converts the mechanical motion to charge something or just plainly converting it to alternating current.
