Hi All
New to forum, not an EE guy. Hope someone may a suggestion.
I have buildt a vertical lift that runs down the side of a 30 foot cliff at my home site. It is powered by a commercially available 110 v engine lift with a very simple control. There is 3 position toggle switch. for up, down & stop. When released the switch springs back to the central (off) position. One must depress the switch for up or down. Presently the lift can only be operated from the top of the cliff as that is where the motor and control is. I know I can solve that problem by running a wire doen the cliff & splicing a second control into the circuit. That is probably what I will do... unless I get some help here.
The problem that this does no solve is that one must depress the control in order to power the lift. Thus, i need to stand at the rop of the lift for appx 40 Seconds while the lift ascends or descends. Not a big deal unless it's raining
or I'm in a rush.
I would prefer to press a button and have the lift ascend or descend and stop at the endpoint automatically. I would the be able to walk the stairs as the lift did its job. This application seems similar to a garage door opener
So, question one is automating the operation so that the button does not need to be held
Question two, is there a wireless option so that I don't have to deal with running a wire down the cliff?
This is a diy project & not a commercial appliction, thus cost is a factor.
Thanx
