Apologies in advance if my terminology or questions are lacking the appropriate knowledge.
I have a client that wants me to make them a riser for their electrical outlets that they have going down a row of 8 desks. They are currently plugged into to a 120v/20amp outlet. Please see the attached image.
Questions
They mentioned having each receptacle protect against surge. The riser is essentially just a fancy extension chord. Will something like this work http://amzn.to/2qCRIPY or is it complete overkill?
Am I going to have problems with overloading the amount of power that circuit can handle? I was told a conservative estimate is 300 watts per computer, which 300x8 = 2400w, which is the exact amount of power that is available. This is how it is currently set up and there are no issues, but is there potential that I may have problems?
Thanks!
