Ultra Low Power 5V PSU Design Using LNK30x Series or Alternatives for <0.6W Standby

Anyone got any experience in ultra low power mains / 5V psu design. Maybe using something like the LNK30x series. 0.6W seems typical, but I'm wondering if there are any better designs to try.
The 'wattless' capacitor types are hopeless for me - too much heat.
IIRC chatzone member ecotec designed a few. Did you re-register John?

I don't have much experience in this area but I do know that Power Integrations (who make the LNK30x) are the best in this field.Don't be afraid to approach them directly for design assistance if you need, usually companies are only too happy to help designers with something that can translate into sales.BTW there is a "Power Design" category that you can enter when you post a question, if you use this you will be more likely to get an expert with experience in that field answering you.

Thank you.  Just after posting I cracked open a consumer product that had a lnk304 inside, so I'll test the efficiency of that.I'd seen the power design group. I was hoping to catch up with Ecotec, but I'll probably post any follow up there.
