I currently work in the industrial maintenance field and I hit a awkward situation. Someone was working with this equipment and I do not know what that person did. Everything is operating correctly, but the pneumatic valve will not operate. I do have 24vdc going to the coil (coil voltage rating is 24VDC), BUT the idiot used a valve that requires 120vac for the solenoid. The coil and output voltage is rated for 24VDC. How much of a difference will it make knowing the solenoid is rated for 120VAC, but using a 24VDC coil and output voltage? Will it work? I don't think it will.
