How close can a driver-transistor be mounted to a resonant magnetic-dipole antenna (a copper loop)?

This is about a self-study project question.I would like to optimize for maximum operating frequency a circuit for driving a copper loop into self-resonance by minimizing the inductance of the hook-up connections and circuit.
Can I mount the breakout-board for a power-transistor very close to the copper-loop antenna without doing something spooky to the operation of the transistor?

You can mount the power transistor very close to the copper-loop antenna, without affecting the transistor operation. Watch out for base voltages and currents induced by the copper loop's magnetic field. The metal in the transistor, breakout board, and heatsink will affect the magnetic field pattern generated by the loop. If the precise magnetic field shape matters to you, you might want to mount the transistor in the center of the loop, as that will minimise the transistor's effect on the field shape. If you do care about the precise field shape, then you already know that the transistor's effect on the field shape can be modeled.
