How to detect single and double tap events using ADXL345 registers and thresholds?

Hello, I need some theoretical suggestions on ADXL345 sensor to create the basic tap detection process I am able to know the how to set tap threshold but after that I have to compare these Tapthresh to which registers so that I will be able to detect the which is either one tap or double tap any kind of suggestion to make this solution will be very helpful.

Since the ADXL345 is an accelerometer, I assume that you are wanting to detect when someone taps on it with their finger.

I assume this will be connected to a microcontroller (like arduino or similar).
You need a loop to read the data from the ADXL345 then compare to the previous readings (average). When you have a change above the threshold then that is a tap. Then you keep track of the time and if you have a second tap within a short time you call that double tap.

Hello, Thanks for the reply and yes I am interfacing this sensor with Arduino and using datasheet I am to understand about threshing tap which is set 20 according to thresh hold 62.5 mg mentioned in the datasheet and other parameters also mentioned below:

Set values for what is considered a TAP and what is a DOUBLE TAP (0-255)
adxl.setTapThreshold(50); // 62.5 mg per increment
adxl.setTapDuration(15); // 625 μs per increment
adxl.setDoubleTapLatency(80); // 1.25 ms per increment 
adxl.setDoubleTapWindow(200); // 1.25 ms per increment

Now I need to know that, what other parameters I have to compare instead of axis readings with threshing tap any suggestions will be very helpful.
