The "super" in supercapacitor means what? It indicates the size or volume or other stuff?

Emma,
The "super" indicates a much larger capacitance per unit volume than a normal capacitor. And generally they have much higher capacitance values than normal capacitors.

Hi Emma-They're also known as "electric double layer" capacitors or "gold caps". You will often see them used for memory backup. The very large capacitance comes cat a cost- the equivalent series resistance (ESR) is usually several orders of magnitude higher than a traditional capacitor, and they are often limited to low working voltages- often no more than 3.3 volts.-Rick

A supercapacitor (also called a supercap, electrochemical capacitor, ultracapacitor or Goldcap) is a high-capacity capacitor with higher capacitance values but lower voltage limit much than other common capacitors that bridge the gap between electrolytic capacitors and rechargeable batteries.
