ASR PRIME Combo – the long‑awaited launch of Telkom‑Telmor’s new combo antenna

  • In recent years, the DVB-T2 antenna market has clearly polarized: on one hand, simple budget designs, and on the other, increasingly specialized antennas designed for difficult reception conditions and professional collective installations. However, there was a lack of a modern combo-type antenna VHF + UHF that would combine high electrical parameters, resistance to LTE/5G interference, and Polish mechanical reliability known from the premium class.

This gap is addressed by ASR PRIME Combo – a new antenna from the Telkom-Telmor brand, whose implementation has been long awaited by both installers and more demanding end users.

    New design, familiar ASR philosophy

ASR PRIME Combo is an antenna designed from scratch as a dual-band construction, intended for DVB-T/T2 reception in the UHF and VHF bands, as well as DAB+ radio. Unlike many compromise "combo" antennas where the VHF band is merely an add-on, here both ranges are treated equally, which required a very precise mechanical and electrical design.

The construction is based on the proven ASR reflector concept, director arrays, and a new, improved dipole. The entire design was created with stable reception in diverse conditions in mind – from home installations to professional SMATV collective systems.

    Pre-implementation tests – installers' feedback

It's worth emphasizing that ASR PRIME Combo was not immediately put on sale. Before the official launch, the antenna was tested in real installations by experienced installers, in various locations and terrain conditions. The tests included:

    • DVB-T2 signal reception in difficult locations,
    • operation in environments with strong LTE and 5G interference,
    • compatibility with modern receivers and collective installations,
    • evaluation of mechanical stability during mast mounting.

Only after completing this phase and implementing final design adjustments was the antenna sent for mass production. Currently, it is not yet available for sale, however – according to announcements – its market premiere will take place in the near future.

Passive and active versions – complete flexibility

ASR PRIME Combo will be available in two variants:

    passive version,
ASR PRIME Combo 20 – active version with passive operation capability.

The active variant is equipped with a new line of PAD-720 5G Protected preamplifiers, characterized by low noise levels, automatic gain control (AGC), and highly effective LTE/5G/GSM interference filtering (attenuation reaching up to 50 dB). Power supply is possible directly from the receiver (5–12 V) or via a diplexer.

How does ASR PRIME Combo compare to other Telkom-Telmor antennas?

The Telkom-Telmor portfolio includes many recognized designs – such as classic ASR antennas for UHF or solutions dedicated to collective installations. ASR PRIME Combo does not directly replace any previous model, because until now there was no antenna in the lineup combining:

    • full-featured VHF and UHF reception,
    • next-generation multi-director technology,
    • advanced 5G protection,
    • premium-class construction designed for long-term operation.

Therefore, it can be treated as a complement and evolution of the ASR family, responding to current DVB-T2 and DAB+ market requirements.

    Reliability and durability for years

As befits a premium-class product, ASR PRIME Combo is made from high-quality plastics and reinforced steel and aluminum profiles with diameters exceeding market standards. The antenna is covered by an extended 3-year warranty, which clearly shows which segment it was designed for.

    Summary

ASR PRIME Combo is an example of a thoughtful implementation that was not created "in a hurry." Long field tests, refined construction, and emphasis on interference resistance make it one of the most interesting antenna announcements in recent months. If the final commercial version maintains the parameters known from pre-implementation tests, Telkom-Telmor's new antenna has a good chance of quickly gaining recognition among installers and demanding users.
