Hi
I’m having trouble with a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-935 tuner on Windows 8.1 x64 and I’m looking for someone who has experience with the VID_2040&PID_8360 configuration.
Hardware
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-935 (hybrid DVB-T/T2/C + analogue)
Hardware ID:
USB\VID_2040&PID_8360
USB\VID_2040&PID_8360&REV_0100
USB\VID_2040&PID_8360&MI_01
Symptom
After installing the driver, the device appears as:
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-935
or
Hauppauge USB Live 2 (depending on the installation attempt)
but in Device Manager I get:
> This device cannot start. (Code 10)
What works
the device is detected via USB
USB Composite Device works
the audio component is detected
VID/PID is read correctly
What doesn’t work
The BDA/DVB part does not start
The tuner is not available in TV applications
Code 10 persists regardless of the driver version
What I have already checked
1. Hauppauge driver 39299:
Driver10_6_0_119_39299-Win7-8-36075.exe
2. WinTV v10:
41041
43323
3. Manual configuration:
hcw10bda.inf
4. In the INF file, I found the entry:
hcw10bda.DeviceDesc-B151 = "Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-935 (1115xx DVB-T/T2/C)"
and the sections:
POLARIS.B151
POLARIS_XDS_Install.B151
5. I forced the installation of HVR-935/B151 from the INF file.
Result
The driver installs correctly; the
Additional information
In the registry, the device is identified as:
VID_2040&PID_8360
I cannot see this PID in
Questions
1. Has anyone got the HVR-935 with PID_8360 working?
2. Does VID_2040&PID_8360 require a different driver package than the standard 39299?
3. Is this an OEM revision requiring different firmware?
4. Does anyone have a newer
I would be grateful for any tips or a screenshot of a working INF entry for this device.
Has this specific PID_8360 unit been tested on a different computer or a different operating system (e.g. Windows 10/7) and, if so, does the DVB/BDA component start up correctly there?
On Windows 10, the same problem.
What is the exact version of Windows 8.1 x64 (build/update level) and did you install the driver after disabling driver signature enforcement / on a clean system without any previous Hauppauge packages?
Yes, I disabled driver signature enforcement; I used the Hauppauge cleaning tool, Windows 8.1 build 9600

The driver installs correctly; the
Hcw10bda.sysfile is copied, but the device still ends up with Code 10.

I cannot see this PID in
hcw10bda.inf– there are entries for B150/B151/C200 etc., but there is no direct entry for 8360.
