    Hello!
I've been downloading a lot of covers from http://www.freecovers.net lately, but I don't know how to start printing.
The downloaded covers have large dimensions, I don't know how to format such an image so that it fits into the cd box later. I mean the dimensions of the cover.

I know that you can measure such a cover with a ruler, but I don't want to play with counting.

What's still interesting to me, why are the dimensions so large? After all, when the image is reduced, it loses details anyway...

In nero you have an application for printing covers, it may not be too wonderful but it gives advice

As beforemóć wrote - probably the simplest and fastest working program is the one attached to Nero. It's really nice to use when used :-) I recommend.
And the covers are 12x12 cm.

All right, but I don't want to print these covers at home...
I am asking about the dimensions of the cover so that I can format the picture at home and take it to the photocopying shop, where they will print it quite cheaply and well...

I don't know if the copy shop has a program that can read the cover design, so I want to know its exact dimensions in pixels.

It depends what program they have in the copy shop, you should first make sure what they have at the point. Of course, you can do it in a format readable by most, like bmp or jpeg, and maybe they even have Nero (CoverDesigner), in which you can make a project at home and you can easily open them and print them easily. A typical box on sale has a size for the cover of 275/185, and I print in this size. Of course, sometimes you need to change the resolution or dimensions in the program, and process it after downloading but it's actually quite simple.

    Rest in Peace
Specifically, the common plate holder needs a 120*127mm cover.
Another idea is a digital photographer (127mm wide paper is standard). It comes out very nice.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of printing CD covers downloaded from Freecovers.net, particularly regarding their large dimensions. Users seek guidance on how to format these images for printing without losing detail. Suggestions include using software like Nero CoverDesigner, which can adjust dimensions automatically, and ensuring the final print size matches standard CD cover dimensions (typically 120mm x 127mm or 275mm x 185mm). The large dimensions of the covers are intended to prevent pixelation and maintain print quality. Users are advised to confirm the capabilities of their local photocopying shop regarding file formats and printing options.
