Hello, I have to connect computers using Router, I need to purchase 21 m power cable and run it along the walls now, what to choose, regular for 0.75 grams per 1m or shielded for 1.50 grams per 1m

    Thanks in advance for reply

    greetings

Oh, and I would forget which cable is better UTP or FTP up to these 21 meters

Better shielded - a more reliable connection, and whether FTP or UTP probably does not matter

from what I read on "search"

this is the difference because UTP >> is not shielded

and Ftp and Sftp or somehow are shielded

Well, FTP is always shielded so better buy this one. A colleague a few years ago bought a 30m UTP (lan between houses) and he did not want to act, it is better not to buy crap but something better.

    kisses

Thanks, I will take FTP, I have a seller for 50 groszy for 1m, it's probably a good offer, but the cable is blue and also has a steel cable, but whatever ;)

UTP and FTP work just as well.

Shielding makes sense in environments with high interference (e.g. production halls) or when connected outdoors.

The shielded cable must be properly grounded on one side.
It performs worse when not grounded than an unshielded cable.

that is, when I earn this cable, it is enough to get the screen cable according to the plug, the computer is zeroed (old 2-wire installation) and in the 2nd room the computer is not reset, but it is done.

in the worst case, I don't have to earn the screen (and the cable will work like a regular twisted pair>> I think so :)

when it comes to zeroing in 1 place, the same, I do not know, computers are connected in 2 rooms to 2 other sockets, but rather, as in blocks, sockets are in the common network incoming to a single apartment.

This is what shielding is about, that it is supposed to isolate disturbances and therefore no current can flow through the shield! If a current flows through the screen (there is a potential difference at its ends - grounded on both sides), it introduces interference - that is, an effect opposite to the intended one ;)

I know that, but I wrote a good word with this earning 2 ends of the cable.

+ if I do not ground, I leave this additional cable alone :)

This is now the final question for 21m of cable and home use of the cable in the house near the walls> take the usual cheaper or pay extra and take FTP

If the house is close to walls, it is better to use UTP.

    Hello
UTP in internal buildings, and on the hangers and external FTP shielded, Also do not look at the price so much, look at the company, I recommend MADEX, I have not been disappointed on them yet, I have buildings made by another company, as they were built, even the colors in my fingers were left and I had 4 white instead of white - the color and not to mention that I am replacing the plugs there because they do not connect (poor copper quality) every now and then. greetings

As I write about these cables here, I wrote something like this from a cable that I want to buy from a friend.

"Cabletech data cabel 4a FTP 4PAIR 24 AMC solid ISO 1180173217M"

    that is FTP

4-pairs, probably 2 screwed (it is probably called flanged)

    4a >> I don't know some category?

24 AMC >> I don't know the type of housing ??, and the strength

Virtually every UTP / FTP cable has 4 pairs (although there are exceptions - 2 pairs), it has nothing to do with crossover.

This determines the thickness of the wires.

Forget FTP - I wrote about grounding, not zeroing.
You only get problems with a shielded cable.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the choice between UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) and FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair) cables for a 21-meter connection between a router and a computer. Users generally recommend FTP for its shielding, which provides a more reliable connection, especially in environments with potential interference. However, some argue that UTP is sufficient for indoor use, particularly when the cable runs along walls. The importance of proper grounding for shielded cables is also highlighted, as improper grounding can lead to performance issues. Users suggest considering the quality of the cable and the manufacturer rather than just the price, with a specific mention of the brand MADEX as reliable.
