For some time I have been wondering if an ordinary thermos that keeps warm will also keep a cold drink, etc.

So it will keep cold :D
It is a vessel used to store substances at a temperature different from the ambient temperature.
It has an isothermal cover (vacuum and mirrors) to prevent the emission of energy or its absorption (cold substance),

Currently, most thermoses are made of steel, so when it comes to one, it will not break for sure. But that shit push button valve might not stand it ... Ice sticks in a thermos nice :D "Juice", a glass and ice cubes in a thermos for a backpack and we are going to the beach :D

I remember old times - One ice cream parlor at 10km of the beach or to the countryside.
Then only the thermos saved from frequent walks.
Or, as in general, they threw ice cream in the confectionery - the whole line with thermos flasks and "2 balls and a thermos full please" ... :D

Topic summary

Thermoses are effective for storing both hot and cold substances due to their isothermal design, which utilizes vacuum insulation and reflective surfaces to minimize heat transfer. Users confirm that thermoses can maintain the temperature of cold drinks, ice, and even ice cream. However, caution is advised against using them for carbonated beverages, as the pressure may cause the container to burst. Modern thermoses are typically made of durable steel, enhancing their reliability for outdoor activities.
