does it mean that the sensor is dead? If so, does the oil need to be drained to replace it? I am asking for any advice on this matter.
    Thank you

You need to drain the oil to replace the sensor, and the sensor itself is attached with 3 M6 screws from the bottom of the oil pan

Hello, first I would check the wiring to this sensor, I had the same case recently and the sensor was good.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the SENSOR light indicator on the Audi A3 dashboard, specifically addressing its meaning and implications. Users identify the light as related to the oil level sensor in the oil pan, with a distinction made between the "MIN" icon indicating minimum oil pressure and the yellow light representing the oil level sensor. Concerns are raised about the possibility of a faulty sensor, with advice given that replacing the sensor requires draining the oil and accessing it via three M6 screws from the bottom of the oil pan. Additionally, checking the wiring to the sensor is recommended as a preliminary step before assuming the sensor is defective.
