  • It often happens to us that we cannot upload a single file larger than 4GB to the flash drive.
The problem is that the FAT32 file system (in which the flash drive is formatted by default) does not allow you to put a file larger than 4GB on it.
To place such a file, we need to format the flash drive to the file system NTFS .

By default, when we right-click on it (in the My Computer window) and select the Format option, we cannot select the NTFS file system.
To unlock it, we do the following:

    1. We enter in My computer , find our flash drive, right-click on it and select Properties .
    2. Then go to the tab Equipment .
    3. We choose our flash drive from the list and click Properties .
    4. In the bookmark Rules we mark options Optimizing performance .
    5. Now, when formatting pendirive, we can choose the file system from the 'format' option NTFS .

The new ExFAT format can also be used. It is more modern than FAT32 and allows you to save files larger than 4GB.
WinXP support (relevant update), Win7 supports as standard.
