Sayings - a form of describing a situation based on humorous,
folk or customary experiences or events. That's how I imagine it.
The resonance of such a form should have positive connotations, and working on Sunday is one thing
of the most serious offenses against our system.
By working on Sunday, you hit the foundations of our statehood.

    There's nothing positive about it...

... work on Sunday should be punished:
    - an additional fee for tires or AC for the district parish priest,
    - stigmatized during the sum to warn others,
    - in the case of concealing work on Sunday, additional physical work
e.g. washing the regional plebank passat.

But I say "Proverbs are the wisdom of fools"
If someone has no opinion, he throws the burden of conveying the message on proverbs.

Depends on your definition of "work". I was drilling holes for the curtain rod there today - it was a real relaxation after a week's work "head" (including Saturday).
Is there a sin or not? ;)

They say that a Frenchman goes on vacation to the Rivera. An American goes to the Bahamas... A Pole paints an apartment... ;)

"Whoever smokes on Sunday, has a pikava" as a certain friend of mine used to say... ;)
