    Well then, colleagues.
What ‘latest developments’ in the field of electrical installations do you know of that would be worth mentioning in a dissertation entitled ‘Designing modern electrical installations’?
I’m thinking of hardware or technological solutions – anything that springs to mind.
To make things easier, I’ll mention that in my thesis I’ve already touched on GSS functional power supply systems, halogen-free cables and LED lighting.
This is just one tiny sub-section covering what we might call these ‘innovations’, and that’s exactly the sort of thing I’m looking for.

Systems based on bistable relays and a comparison with conventional systems.
    Programmable systems
    Heating and de-icing systems
Surge protection (until recently almost unheard of in our part of the world).

It may not be news to you, but in my experience this solution has rarely been used, at least until recently.

    - Integration of the alarm system with the control of roller shutters and lighting inside and outside the building [switching on the lights and closing the roller shutters when the alarm is triggered, simulating the presence of occupants by switching on the lights]
    - Integration of gate automation with lighting [switching on the driveway lighting when the gate opens, etc.]
