Hello. I had this radio (Pioneer deh 2220ub) in the Renault Megane before and everything was ok, but now I changed the car to the Peugeot 306 (2000) and installed the radio and after each engine turn off or changing the position of the ignition key, the radio turns off and does not turn on by itself ( in the megance it turned on) and when I turn it on, each station is as it was pre-saved, i.e. it just changes and when I listen to music from usb, it starts to play from the beginning of the list, and in the megance even on the second day when I started the car and listened to it all was remembered as I turned off the radio. Do you know what I can do myself? Any cable for the battery so that there is constant power?
    Regards

In some cars it is so (as you can also see in yours) that after turning off the ignition and removing the key, the voltage is cut off from the radio, therefore it resets. If you know a bit about cables, you can handle it. There are usually two (+) cables in the radio and one minus (ground). One of the "pluses" is the main power supply, the other "plus" is that the voltage is maintained even after removing the key. The easiest way is to fasten them together and connect to the "permanent" plus. Then, even after removing the key, you will be able to listen to the radio. If you don't want to rummage in it, any car electrician will do it for you for 10-20 PLN in 10 minutes.

It was better to change yellow and red in places. Then, after removing the key, the radio would turn off and after inserting the key, it would turn on without resetting.

I corrected it, but I note that there is such a "Spelling" key - you should use it before sending.

    Hello,

I started a new post asking the same :( but the search engine did not show any results when I entered the name of the radio (although differently).

I already know what to do so that it does not erase the memory in this pioneer, but is it not possible to connect these cables incorrectly so that they discharge the battery overnight? It probably sounds funny, but I don't have a green idea ... :)

You will discharge the battery if you leave the radio on and the music is playing :) Otherwise, you can be calm, the radio uses very little current in standby mode. And as for the connection, if the radio works, it means that you connected it well :)

I'll refresh the topic. Once, when connecting the radio, I did so that I connected 2 cables and I have so that after removing the key from the ignition switch, the radio can still be used. Now I would like to make the radio turn off after removing the key. What I have to do? I went through half the internet and I can't find a clear instruction or diagram. Please help.

    Regards.

You have bridged the red and yellow wires. You need to separate them and connect yellow to yellow, red to red. If it does not remember the stations, swap these wires in places, i.e. yellow to red and red to yellow.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Pioneer DEH 2220UB radio resetting after the ignition is turned off in a Peugeot 306. Users identified that the issue arises because the radio loses power when the ignition is switched off. Solutions proposed include connecting the yellow and red wires correctly: swapping them ensures that the radio retains memory and turns on automatically when the ignition is activated. Users confirmed that after making these adjustments, the radio functions as intended without resetting or losing saved stations.
