    Hello!

I have a problem with a newly purchased radio for Peugeot 508 from 2012 (no original navi, small mono display). The new radio allegedly has plug and play wiring, which would mean that I don't have to do any modification to the installation. Connecting everything according to the instructions, the radio does not work ... regardless of whether the power comes from the battery line or from the power supply after ignition. The radio can only be turned on when power is connected to the ACC line coming from the canbus decoder. This will bypass the decoder and turn on the radio. Unfortunately, in this case, the radio loses the ability to decode signals from the can bus line (steering wheel buttons, air-conditioning reading, etc.).

I've been struggling with this for the second week now and I can't get the hell out of where the problem is. I suspected a damaged canbus decoder so the seller replaced it ... it did not help. I checked the connections on the cubes, both of the quadlock, iso and 16pin decoder. Everything looks good. The voltages on the can H and can L lines are properly connected, which I can confirm with a multimeter. It looks like the canbus decoder just does not give the impulse to start the radio but why?

Here are the details of my radio:

    Android 8
    px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180321.165038 test-keys
    MCU version: MTCE_MX2_V2.83_1
    Kernel Version: 4.4.93+

    canbus:

    MH (PA-SS-05) 20180402
    SS-PA0503271018-2
    For: Peugeot 2008
    P / N 1801300412
    Software: PSA V2.27 005BYPS

The radio is 1din, like in the photo:

A schematic for the canbus that I found somewhere on the net in the attachment.

I have read a lot of forums and from what I can see people have a problem mainly with keeping the radio going. I have a problem with the power supply.

In the event that any of the forum members had an idea to change the factory settings for choosing a canbus, I would like to inform you that I have converted dozens of them ... still nothing. Below is a photo of the canbus pinout:

From what I understand, the 12V power supply is connected to pin 16 (B +, battery), and ground to pin 15 (GND) - which corresponds to the pins on the quadlock. Here are also connected the wires for the ground of the radio and 12V b + radio power supply. The decoder uses canL and canH lines to power the radio with pin 12 (ACC), which is connected with a cable to the radio power supply (ACC), after meeting the condition of turning the key (or starting the engine). I checked the correctness of operation both in economy mode and after ignition of the engine. TX and RX are transmission lines (transmit and receive) connected directly to the radio ... these also correspond to the pins on the ISO cube.

For me, in 407sw, after connecting, everything worked fine except for functions such as automatic lights blocked my parking sensors, etc. and now the question has been reached by someone how to arrange this crap?

If you have a canbus with an additional loudspeaker and the Widston radio in the PP2000 you need to turn off the parking sensors in Bsi, then the beeping will work on the additional speaker, the curiosity is that the front sensors only work on the reverse; /
As for the daytime running lights .. I recommend you to put on 2-in-1 daytime running lights with alli, I fly for almost 2 years without any problems and after many inspections. The dusk sensor automatically turns on the short lights and that's how we save on filaments and energy.
The tailgate sensor .. I heard that someone from the forum switched it on the planet, unfortunately I did not succeed

@MiketheSeaman I understand that you replaced the entire central panel so that the display would fit?

And how did you manage to grasp this radio? Because I have a similar problem with communication between the radio and the steering wheel and the center console that does not work, the radio is M600 with Android 10. I got the diagram from the seller and it seems to me that everything is ok, but maybe someone will notice something and advise what and how Android 8 radio - Peugeot 508 - Radio cannot communicate with the canbus decoder Android 8 radio - Peugeot 508 - Radio cannot communicate with the canbus decoder Android 8 radio - Peugeot 508 - Radio cannot communicate with the canbus decoder

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced when installing a new Android 8 radio in a 2012 Peugeot 508, specifically regarding communication with the canbus decoder. The user reports that the radio only powers on when bypassing the canbus decoder, which results in the loss of functionality for steering wheel controls and other features. Various forum members suggest checking the canbus settings, wiring connections, and the possibility of needing to adjust factory settings. Some users share experiences with similar issues in other Peugeot models, indicating that adjustments in the vehicle's BSI (Built-in Systems Interface) may be necessary for proper functionality.
