    Instruction in Polish:

    1.Remove the toner cartridge and disconnect the usb cable
    2.Turn off the printer
    3. Turn on the printer and hold the "Stop" button while starting it up
    4. The device display will show the message "download"
    5.Press "Stop" to continue
    6. The message "image1" will appear on the display of the device
    7.Plug in the USB cable
    8. Wait for windows to successfully install the new device
    9. Boot "dwnl4600.bat" from Reset SCX 4600 directory
    10.The printer firmware upload window will be displayed, confirm the changes.
    11. The display of the device will show the progress of loading new software, do not turn off the printer or computer.
    12.After the new firmware has been successfully installed, restart the printer.
    13.Close the contacts of the counter chip in the toner with tape and install the toner in the printer.

    The printed page counter will reset each time the machine is turned on. Works with starter and standard toner.

    I have the scx-4600 printer and I confirm that the program works :D I started it when the red LED on the printer started flashing and the message "prepare a new cartridge" was displayed, which means that the toner will be almost out soon. I did everything according to the instructions, printed the report and I have in writing that the printer thinks that 0 pages were printed from the given toner :D however, it is necessary to seal the metal contacts on the toner cartridge with adhesive tape, first I did not do it and it continued to flash red, now I sealed it and everything is fine, the printer works.

    I just performed a counter reset of my "Samsung" according to the procedure and what? Nothing happened to the device, but the page counter did not reset.
    What a suprise! I put in the starter toner with a sticky chip (I sealed all 4 contacts), which previously did not want to work anymore and what? IT WORKS!!!
    Tomorrow I will charge the second cartridge and see if it will work too !!!

    I bought this printer recently, I made it according to the instructions and it did not work (I did 2 times) - it turned out I just forgot to seal the toner contacts - I stuck it and then it showed that the toner is 100% :D ,
    page counter WORKS, I currently have 2,500 pages on starter toner
    update done on win7x64 - but it does not matter, because it is a simple upload via USB - try maybe from a different computer?

    On windows 7 a message pops up on the printer "Image error Reset Printer".
    I don't have access to XP, but it seems to me it's the fault of the device not being detected by a seven ("No hardware ID") only once it recognized something as a universal printer.

    @ ciekbialy20 you need to start the printer with the "STOP" button pressed after sticking / removing the chip and disconnecting the USB cable. Tested on Windows 7 ultimate x64, the installation was fine. I have already refilled the starter toner 4 times, it is unbreakable, and I print a lot.

    win xp and win7 x64 ... the same error ... as for my eyes, the problem is in the new printer software .. I bought mine a month ago ... maybe from 2011 samsung started to produce them on the new firmware, which blocks the ability to update via the package that has been posted here.
