    Hello.
I have a problem how to remove the adhesive from the advertising foil from the aluminum profiles. The foil came off after heating, but unfortunately a layer of glue remained. Nothing can remove cholera. I've tried nitro, gasoline, denatured alcohol, special glue removers, acetone and ... NOTHING. With some means, e.g. nitro, I obtained such a "jelly" that can be scraped off with a spatula. Unfortunately, after drying, the surface is still sticky. The profiles are to be painted and unfortunately their area is approx. 30 m2.

Try WD40. Spray and wait. The glue should curl up into clumps when you try to wipe it off the surface. Only then, of course, degreasing.

Traces of adhesive tape were removed nicely after using isopropanol, i.e. an electronics cleaning agent, but you can also try with ethanol, i.e. popular spirit.

    Hello
From the experience of working "in advertising" (e.g. signs glued with foil) - to clean the surface after removing the old foil, we use Mors (probably the same as nitro). The glue makes dumplings as you wrote, collect them with a spatula ... and repeat the procedure until the effect, i.e. to a non-sticky surface :)
At the end, it is just washing the surface with this Morse.
Of course, do it in a well-ventilated area (or outdoors) :!:

I tried alcohol, nothing. Freezing can be problematic, 30 m2 or 20 panels with dimensions of 2x0.8 m. I will try WD. The glue from the scotch tape is to this crap like roller skates to a truck.

Butter, butyric acid works well ;) or try paint removers, Scansol, etc.

Plaque lubricates. You get exactly the same after WD40, only the same fine-particle grease (actually a water displacer and lubricant in one).
I would be careful with acids, because the substrate is aluminum. Although the author writes that it is for painting, but if it stains the surface, stains with a different structure may remain after painting.

In Castorama you can buy a special preparation for removing glue from foils and adhesive tapes. It comes in a spray, in green cans with an orange cap on the valve. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it's called. It smells like grapefruit juice. Indeed, the glue dissolves, and does not cause "dumpling". After removing the glue, we washed the surface with water and detergent (such as for washing pots) and it was OK.
I think that if you ask the sellers from the glue and dye stands in Castorama, they can indicate this preparation.

Mix nitro with e.g. paraffin oil and scrub the profiles with this mix. The oil will prevent the nitro adhesives from sticking back to the profiles after evaporation.

You have comforted me. I tried a mix of gasoline and alcohol, but it doesn't work. I'll try nitro with oil. I was also wondering if a pressure washer with boiling water + some aggressive chemicals for washing cars or rims would not work.

Try turpentine, labeloffs are made on its basis.

If everything fails, there is always a burner + grinder :)

Eraser. It works well with all kinds of advertising stickers on laptops, no traces remain after removal. The eraser collects the remains of the glue, leaving a surface that can only be wiped with a cloth as advertised.
If there are no scratches on the plastic housings, there will be no traces on the profiles. However, I have no idea what industrial equivalent of this method could be used here.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around effective methods for removing adhesive residue from advertising foil on aluminum profiles. Various solutions were proposed, including using WD40, freezing the adhesive, isopropanol, and specialized adhesive removers. Users shared experiences with products like Mors (similar to nitro), turpentine, and a specific preparation from Castorama that dissolves glue without leaving residue. Other suggestions included mixing nitro with paraffin oil, using paint removers, and even unconventional methods like using a burner or grinder. The challenges of working with a large area (30 m²) and ensuring the aluminum surface remains intact were highlighted.
