Hello. I just bought a polsatu sagemcom 88-320 decoder with a hard disk. How can I transfer recordings from the decoder disk to my laptop? What is the recording format and what is it to convert to, for example, AVI. I connected the disk to the paw, it detected it but it cannot be entered. I am green in this, please give a fairly accurate answer. Regards and thank you.

When I hook up the recorder and turn it on, I have "ants" on the screen, hehehe, and when I turn it off, an image appears. As if the decoder was allergic to the recorder.

The disk is not encrypted or locked in any way, just its firmware is written not for the PC but for the Decoder. Only the replacement of electronics or firmware that cannot be found on the Internet can help, there may be tools that allow you to rip the firmware (from a normal disk) and upload it to this Hitachi, but I was looking and I could not find it, and when programs are paid, e.g. AFF Repair Station. I have this information from the website at HGST.com

Buddy, it's not about disk encryption, but that the data on the disk itself is encrypted and if you even moved it to another disk, it sneezes anyway.

It seems to me that it is rather not encryption, but the disk partition is not supported by the computer. I have a TV decoder for katra and a USB disk and when I connect the recording disk to the computer, I immediately want to format it because it writes that the sest is not the correct partition

lukaszczecin The disk partition is not supported by the computer, so one and two are still encrypted data on the disk, even if you somehow transfer them to the computer, you won't see anything anyway.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of transferring recordings from a Cyfrowy Polsat Sagemcom 88-320 decoder's hard disk to a laptop. Users highlight that the data on the disk is encrypted, making direct access impossible when connected to a computer. Some suggest that the disk's firmware is not compatible with PC systems, and even if the disk is detected, the data remains inaccessible. A few users mention using a DVD recorder as a potential workaround, but the effectiveness of this method is questioned. Overall, the consensus is that without specialized tools or firmware modifications, transferring recordings is highly problematic.
