My dual-function gas furnace drains water from time to time through the pump... a little bit every day, until the pressure drops to a value where the controller turns off the furnace. what could be the reason?

It probably ejects water through the safety valve located at the pump. Write down what type of furnace, what temperature and water pressure at the time of discharge, whether it is constantly leaking.

The termet miniterm furnace... leaks all the time... precisely because of this valve

try turning the red one on the valve to the right a bit. "shoot" it a few times - maybe you will be able to close it. This is a temporary solution and it will have to be replaced anyway. When replacing it, it is worth checking the expansion vessel (diaphragm) and, if necessary, pumping it up.

If the pressure is below the rated operating pressure of the furnace and it is leaking, as a colleague wrote, the valve needs to be replaced.

It looks like it hasn`t been serviced for a long time. Ask a Termet service technician in your area for a thorough inspection. The current list of service technicians is here: http://www.termet.com.pl/pl/serwis/

Well, it`s leaking until it reaches the level where the stove turns off, the valve was replaced last year by a Termet service technician... and it`s still leaking... just move it slightly (and it runs very freely) and it`s already leaking... maybe is this valve bad?

The basic thing is to check the expansion vessel whether there is a pressure of 1 bar in it, if not, pump it up with a car pump, of course, first you need to close the central heating valves and drain the water from the boiler. If water is leaking from the valve in the vessel, the vessel needs to be replaced. In both cases, the safety valve must be replaced.

Maybe it`s not a leak from the safety valve, but from the vent.

    Hello

I didn`t want to start a second thread, so I`ll add...
I want to unscrew the safety valve, but it is deep inside the furnace. You can only reach it from one side with the key, but the traffic is minimal. It is an old (about 12 years old) dual-function furnace.
If I`m stubborn, I can unscrew the main nut with minimal movements, but I`m afraid that the delicate tubes will bend. Questions:

    1. Do I have to unscrew it with two wrenches - one holds the nut and the other turns the valve?
    2. Is there a magical way to unscrew it easily or do I have to dismantle the pipes with the valve? Disassembling the system won`t be that quick because there are a lot of pipes and some cables ;)

What to do? Please do not write: "call a specialist" :)

    Regards

    The water released itself :)
Tomorrow I will start unscrewing the pipes along with the container and the crossover (changing from water to central heating). Do you think this is a good idea?
There is no need to unscrew the valve because it does not move smoothly. Perhaps it got stuck or was tightened that way. There is no point in forcing it because it will close and I will destroy the stove. The level of movement is about 3 cm, so it is impossible (forcibly) to move the key to make another movement.

I have a side question... Is there a flat open wrench with a ratchet?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a dual-function gas furnace, specifically a Termet Miniterm model, that is leaking water daily until the pressure drops, causing the furnace to shut off. Participants suggest that the issue may stem from a faulty safety valve, which could be leaking due to improper pressure levels or lack of maintenance. Recommendations include checking the expansion vessel's pressure, replacing the safety valve, and consulting a service technician for a thorough inspection. Some users also discuss the challenges of accessing and replacing the valve due to its location within the furnace.
