My ASUS 22 '' monitor started showing a pink image yesterday.
What is the reason for this?
I wonder if it's not the fault of the graphics card. NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500 GT. When I turn off the computer for the first 10 minutes, the image is ok, and then this pink again. And so every time I turn off the computer. Moving the cables does nothing. I pulled out all the cables, blown it and nothing.
What could it be and how do I fix it?
    Please help.

    Do:
    1. Connect the monitor to another computer
    2. Connect another monitor / LCD etc. to the computer

It may be, for example, that the graphics card has been damaged, when it gets hot it loses one color, making you a pink image.
A similar situation may be with the monitor.

You must first determine what is damaged.
Then we'll figure out how to fix it.

    Accurate information is needed:
    - Does this discoloration occur abruptly or smoothly?
    - Are white and gray correct for the first minutes? no discoloration

    Buddy, I will say this:
Is the image slightly pink from the beginning of switching on the coma, and then ok displays or the screen goes blank?
Is it pink non-stop and you can use it for hours and nothing changes ???
Under what circumstances did the damage occur ??
Check the monitor on a different computer.
Check the computer on a different monitor.
This is basic information for people who are involved in this and can help.

So yeah: I connected the monitor to another computer and it's fine all the time. So the disadvantages of the monitor can be ruled out.
After turning on the computer, the image has no discoloration, it does not jump: it is very good. And so after about 10 minutes. this pink, glaring discoloration jumps. Moving the monitor or the cables does not change the image. So there will definitely be something to the graphics card. Just what?
Ps. Thanks for all the tips and answers so far :)

It is not turning the monitor itself on and off that makes the pink color. Only on and off the entire computer. The monitor is definitely functional, and the cables are also - because I checked it on another computer and nothing is happening. It's gonna be something with the graphics card ... just what?

It's good and not good ... because it all depends on how good your graphics card is ????

    Common cases are:
    - no contact on the DVI, VGA, etc.
    - any of the elements responsible for a given color loses its properties or loses contact with the printed circuit
    - the image processor loses contact after warming up, or something is happening inside it

You can go to a computer repair shop to check the artwork, but it can be costly.

If your artwork is cheap, I'd rather buy a new one.

Of course, it's all up to you :)

You can try to repair it, you can even try it yourself ... but it is still precision electronics, where you can damage something much faster than repair it ... especially when someone does not know it.

    Regards

The graphics card is NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500 GT. I don't know if it's good or bad. :)
And if one of the colors has lost its properties, can you fix it yourself? and the question is how?

One of the filters on the graphics could have fallen or, as a colleague wrote, something is losing contact. Resoldering the graphics might help. I honestly wouldn't have fun, just buy a new one.

You can practically fix everything - the question is is it profitable?

We can think a lot here, the deal is as it is - you have to have it in your hand to say something more.

Your artwork is average, let's say the current standard.

You will spend a minimum of PLN 50 on the website and it is not known if it will work.
I propose to sell it, e.g. at an auction, with detailed information on what is going on.

And give yourself a gift and buy a new one.
You will avoid a lot of unnecessary nerves, waiting and uncertainty.

    Of course your will ...

And I wonder what are these filters on the graphics?

You know what? I unscrewed the side cover from the computer to see how the card behaves when the computer is on and I noticed that the fan on this card is not spinning. So I turned it off, unscrewed the card and it turned out that this fan is burnt - (of the four windings that were on this fan, two are burned) and now the question is is it only the fault of this fan? could anything have gone further?

Maybe the reason for the flush is overheating of the system, but I shoot. In this case, I would replace the fan or put another one temporarily for cooling. If it turns out that everything returns to normal, replace the fan and that's it.
