Hello. I have the following problem: I have an IE 3.0 mouse for 2 days. Yesterday problems began to appear, the mouse "turned off" by itself
"Turned off", i.e. - the entire laser goes out from the inside, the mouse does not respond, but there is no sound that the USB disconnects. The mouse only starts working when I remove its USB plug (and then there is sound!!) and reconnect it. Then the laser lights up and the mouse works normally. I installed the drivers for this mouse - same thing. I will add that everything is ok on the old mouse, so it's probably the mouse's fault, but I'm not sure.
Please advice. If necessary, I can unscrew the mouse, although I would prefer to avoid it. I tried on different USB sockets (both front and back) - Total on 6 sockets. The same on each. I look forward to your prompt reply. Regards.

Device Manager/Mouse Properties/Power Management - check if there is an option to allow disabling...

This option is not checked (I already unchecked it). Maybe not enough energy? Would replacing the power supply help? Maybe something wrong with the cable? Do you recommend replacing it? Will this help? :) )

    Regards.

    Hello,

i had a similar problem with a dell optiplex 760 and 780 / dell mouse (included with pc)

Dell did not know how to deal with this problem (a problem on almost 50 computers in the company) - updated USB and chipset drivers helped (of course not from Dell, but found on the net)

I suggest repeating the same thing, or you can buy a USB/PS2 adapter (something I couldn't use in the Dells mentioned above due to the lack of a PS2 port :-) )

The laser does not go out - because it is an optical mouse, not a laser one. If it goes out, it's the optical sensor. Included with this mouse was a USB -> PS / 2 adapter, try if the mouse will not disconnect on its own.

If we are all so clingy to everyone, it is not the optical sensor that "goes out", but the red LED. There is nothing to "go out" in the optical sensor. As for the problem itself, try:
    - uninstall the drivers, turn off/on the computer and reinstall. If possible, search the Internet and install alternative mouse drivers
    - connect another mouse and check if the problem occurs on a different model

    Hello,

I have the same problem as the author of the topic, I also have an IE 3.0 mouse, let me write it down:

The mouse turns off every now and then, the laser goes out and sometimes turns on, and sometimes I have to disconnect from the USB and connect it again. I have 2 USB inputs on the front and 6 inputs on the back of the computer, and each USB input works the same - the mouse turns off. I also tested through the adapter and the same thing happens ...
I checked another mouse, it also turns off, I checked my mouse on 2 other computers, it works fine.
I reinstalled the system, cleaned the registry with CCleaner, scanned the system with KASPERSKY antivirus and nothing helps, "blown" the computer inside, checked if the problem was in the wiring, disconnected the cables from the computer and reconnected and nothing helps. I changed HZ to 500 before, then changed to the standard 125 and still does not help .. Yesterday after a long period of not using the computer, I turned it on and for about 4-5 hours it works fine, in the morning I get up and turn it off again .. I have one mouse, some cheap a4tech and she it just works well, never turns off .. and I care about precision and this a4tech mouse is bad ..

I don't know what's going on, the fault lies in the computer, the mouse works fine on other hardware.

Please help, it's starting to annoy me and I don't want to buy a new computer because of a stupid, disconnecting mouse...

What power supply do you have? My IE 1.1 has been running at 1000Hz for over a year now.

Deer power supply model DR-8400BTX Total max 400W

but it's probably not the fault of the power supply as my mouse worked well on this power supply for over a year ;>

Regarding the power supply, read this article.

I see that deer is not a very efficient power supply, but dear user, can you explain to me why a bad mouse for PLN 20 works flawlessly for me and the one for PLN 100 (IE 3.0 - works 100% well on other hardware) turns off every now and then? :(

I checked the power supply from the inside, everything looks good, nothing is burnt, the resistors are also in good condition, like new ...

Thread light years ago but maybe someone will find my answer useful:
Namely, I have a Gaming Mouse fx-one mk-02 I had an annoying problem until recently the mouse has (or rather had) 4 LEDs that change color after removing these LEDs, the problem is over.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with the IE 3.0 mouse, which intermittently turns off, causing the laser to go out and rendering the device unresponsive. Users suggest checking the Device Manager for power management settings, updating USB and chipset drivers, and testing the mouse with a USB to PS/2 adapter. Some users report similar problems with other mice, indicating potential power supply issues or USB port malfunctions. The conversation also touches on the effectiveness of different power supplies and the possibility of faulty wiring. Despite troubleshooting efforts, including driver reinstallation and system checks, the problem persists for some users.
