Hello everyone.
I have a problem with a desktop PC with Windows XP. A few days ago my mouse disappeared on it (even the cursor). Trying to fix it, I uninstalled (the keyboard worked without a problem) HID device drivers visible in the device manager. Unfortunately, this only made matters worse because the keyboard was gone.
Disconnecting and reconnecting did nothing, because the computer detected a new device and you had to confirm the path to the driver, and without the keyboard and mouse you can not
I was able to restore the computer to its earlier configuration by replacing system files, but the earliest copy was a few days ago (although the mouse worked on it). The joy did not last long, however, because after a few launches the mouse disappeared again.
At the moment, the situation is that if I uninstall the mouse HID drivers (I must be careful not to uninstall one of the others, because the keyboard will disappear again), the mouse will be detected. I install it as USB - HID compliant device, after a while another device is detected and I also want to install as a HID device. If I install it, the mouse does not work anymore (the cursor does not move). If I cancel the installation of this device, the mouse works and I have an unrecognized device in the Manager. Unfortunately, after restarting again the mouse does not work and there is a HID device in the manager.
Attempting to install the mouse with other drivers also does nothing, because after a few starts the mouse disappears again.
The problem is with the USB mouse, because unfortunately I don't have any on PS2
Does anyone know how to fix this? Can a bad HID driver in the system be blamed? Update? I scanned the anti-virus and found nothing so it was not a virus.
I have no ideas anymore and operating the keyboard in the system is very tiring
I try to avoid reinstalling the system for now
