    Hello,
I would like to know what type of grease should be used to replenish and lubricate the impact mechanism in sds power tools.
There is a refill hole in my Graphite sdsmax hammer, but unfortunately nothing is mentioned in the manual about the type of grease.
Thank you in advance for your help.

If the manual does not say anything about it, it means that the user should not rummage there.

There is enough grease in the mechanism, and if it does not leak, there is no need to refill it.

Besides, a better solution would be to dismantle the entire hammer once a year or two, thoroughly wash it and lubricate it with fresh grease, and not add new grease to the old one.

To lubricate the mechanism, you can use Bosch or Makita service grease,
Polish Lubriten EPS 1 grease, used by Celme, can also be used.

When it comes to lubrication, the manual clearly says that you should replenish the grease every 40-50 hours of work, but as I mentioned earlier, there is no information about the quality of the grease

If it says so, then the only thing left is to call the Topex service and ask what grease to use.
If you use a different lubricant, there may be warranty issues.

I followed your advice and the service man was probably not very versed, I think it's the voice and such an uncertain answer. I heard that it can be ŁT43 ordinary bearing
I'm a bit skeptical, but I'm open to other suggestions

ŁT 43 is not suitable for the mechanism, it is too dense and too stiff.

Also, graphite grease must not be used. You will destroy the mechanism.

It can be Bosch or Makita gear grease or Polish Lubriten EPS 1.
0.9 kg costs PLN 35. For relubrication once in a while, a 0.2 kg package is enough. Do not force too much grease into the mechanism.

    Hello
We use MEISSELPASTE by FUCHS in our company.
It is a grease dedicated specifically to the lubrication of tips and working elements
in hammer drills. Checked works fine.

Bit and drill tip grease is not suitable for the inside of the gear

    problem solved,
I managed to get some grease from the service, I hope the service man knew what he was talking about because he wasn't very convincing
I'm using it right now and nothing is happening

I have a Macallister hammer drill and the manual says that the grease in the gear should be refilled with lithium-based grease.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the appropriate type of grease for lubricating the impact mechanism in SDS power tools, specifically the Graphite SDS Max hammer. Users express concerns about the lack of information in the manual regarding grease specifications. Recommendations include using Bosch or Makita service grease, or Polish Lubriten EPS 1 grease. Some users caution against using ŁT 43 grease due to its density and graphite grease, which could damage the mechanism. One user mentions using MEISSELPASTE by FUCHS, a grease designed for hammer drills. The importance of not overfilling the mechanism with grease is also highlighted. Additionally, a user with a Macallister hammer drill notes that lithium-based grease is specified in their manual.
