    Hello

I have to trim a 3.8 cm thick wooden top for the kitchen
I already have a jigsaw, but I mean straight cuts (5-6 cuts), shortening and narrowing the table top, so that the joints in the place of cuts are as perfect as possible

    1. is it possible to make such a straight cut with the handheld saw?

2.Do you need a good-class device for this or is it enough some first better crap from castorama for PLN 100?
or possibly it can be for PLN 100 but it must have the appropriate parameters, what?

    Thank you for your help
    Peter

The oak top is probably hard so it must be quite strong equipment and it will be difficult for you to trim evenly. Not only the power will be important, but also the shield you will cut it. Good luck.

so that it would be evenly planned to drive the saw along the board attached to the table top - it will not guarantee a clean cut?

If you want to do it evenly and that the seam marks are not visible, then you need to invest in good equipment, for example a Makita SP-6000 hand saw with a 1.4-meter guide. The guide will allow you to cut in perfectly straight lines, of course you must remember to cut from the side. worse, then from the better side, the saw teeth pull the material inside and you do not have breakouts. A minimum 48-tooth blade is also important, preferably also makita (clean cut). The cutting in oak must be really slow, so that you do not step on the blade too quickly. If you want to buy a used saw in a normal condition, write to me tomekc796(_at_)vp.pl

Instead of buying foreign equipment made in China, it's best to buy a Polish Celma. Not only does it cost less, it is also of higher quality.

And you think rightly. You can cut with any hand saw or even a good handsaw. There is no need to buy any expensive tools like Makita saw, tid. Without exaggeration, you can cut a piece of the table top with any saw. The only condition for it to be nice is that the saw must be sharp. I recommend having as small as possible teeth, then the edge will be smooth. Instead of a saw guiding board, it is better to use a steel flat bar or an angle bar and 2 clamps.

Hi. 3/4 of success is the right target. A large number of teeth and their appropriate profile. E.g Bosch Optiline saw blade works very well and does not cost a fortune. Chainsaw Celma DBRCc67 It's OK, but Bosch or Makita are a different shelf when it comes to work culture (vibration, driving, precision settings, noise, ergonomics, etc.). Celma is an age-old structure, hence its shape with a hewn ax. On the other hand, when it comes to power or engine endurance, it cannot be faulted - and it outclasses the competition with its price. The question of how many cuts you will make. How much and maybe for profit, invest in Bosch or Makita with a guide rail. As for myself and then the machine will not be used, then it is Celma + some leading strip made of a flat bar. The set with the Celma should include an element for parallel guidance.

Topic summary

To achieve precise straight cuts on a 3.8 cm thick kitchen table top, investing in a high-quality handheld circular saw is recommended. A guide rail, such as the one available for the Makita SP-6000, is essential for maintaining straight lines and minimizing seam visibility. A blade with at least 48 teeth is advised for a clean cut, particularly when working with hard materials like oak. While some users suggest that a basic saw can suffice if sharp, others emphasize the importance of tool quality for better performance and finish. Brands like Bosch and Celma are mentioned, with Bosch blades noted for their effectiveness. The discussion highlights the balance between cost and quality, suggesting that for frequent use, investing in a premium model is worthwhile.
