I have similar. Perfect for precision work, and with a tripod or a flexible extension simply invaluable.

    Thanks for the answers.
one more thing, on some forums they write that the proxxon fbs 240 e is better, someone had both grinders in their hands and can say which is better?
Looking at two grinders, the dremel is more modern, it has higher revolutions, which will definitely be important when polishing and grinding, and it has a more powerful engine.

Both Dremel and Proxxon are high quality products.
    Sellers praised both brands.
I chose dremel because of its greater popularity and availability "in case of emergency", moreover, I had contact with dremel before and it did not disappoint.
I bought 4000 and I am 100% satisfied. It paid for itself and is still under warranty :D
I recommend a set with a roller and as many tips as possible.

    True, Proxxon is better.

    Why is proxxon better??

Dremel has a more powerful motor, higher revolutions, popular which will not be difficult to buy an attachment, in the set they give a flexible hose and in my opinion it looks more modern.
On one forum I found that in the proxxon fbs 240/e the front bearing does not stick well in the housing, so something had to be placed under the bearing, e.g. a cut paper strip - a few people confirmed it.

Do you have proxxon or dremel, write the pros and cons of these grinders.

From what I heard, Dremel invented a multi-device, which we even colloquially call simply dremel ;)
Bosch bought the whole thing, but to me dremel is dremel. Skill is always a polka or two lower.

Please correct the post - regulations point 3.1.13 [days]

Since I trade these devices, let me tell you that:
Skil, Dremel, Bosch are the same manufacturer, distribution in Poland is handled by Robert-Bosch.
As for the 400 version last year they released a faulty series regarding electronic controls/cold solder etc. so please be careful. Personally, I recommend the cheaper version of the 300, which has a simple design and there were no problems with it.
As for Proxxon, I would say that it is of high quality and even better than Dremel, many prosthodontists bought it from me, and most importantly, it is a bit cheaper. Of course, the ideal complement to each product is a flexible shaft, and here many people do not know that after connecting it to the device, it should be turned on for about 1 minute in a free "hanging" position so that it settles (to eliminate stresses and twists)

Buy this Dremel, but read the instructions carefully. For this price it pays off. Dremel Series 300 costs about PLN 300 in the store without a flexible hose.

Hello everyone! I have a question for xardas 8891. Does the negative assessment of the defective series from last year apply to the 400 model (as written) or 4000 (because it is mentioned). I also have a problem whether to buy the 300 1/55 model or the 4000 4/65 model? I have the opportunity to buy the second model in the supermarket for an extremely low price: 419,-. I am asking for a reply. Pzdr

For me, the problem was (last year) with the 400 series models and two cases with the 4000 (in these cases it was a grossly weak torque at low revs). Since this year there have been no problems. I personally would recommend Proxxon IB/E or the FBS 240/E series + flexible shaft. In them, the revolutions start from 5000 rpm (which is important when sharpening / polishing) they have a more sensitive scale, quality (i.e. no play) such as dremel and also cheaper than it. Of course, buy Dremel accessories, Proxxon has weaker products in this respect (faster grinding wheels / discs, etc.).
    Regards.

Oh, so there would be no surprise, both brands made in China, folded in Germany/Austria/China
    Dremel supplied by Robert-Bosch (Skil/Dremel/Bosch)
Proxxon by Lange-Łukaszuk (supplier of Starmix/Kress/NWS etc.)

Thanks for the reply. I just read it. Yesterday I bought a dremel 4000 4/65w
C.......ie for 419,-. Initially, I had concerns (some people advised me not to buy in the supermarket due to possible lower quality (?)), but after checking everything is OK. The product is made in Mexico, year of manufacture. 2011. Besides, 2 years warranty :D . With my typical occasional DIY use, I don't think I made a mistake in the purchase. Thank you again for the answer and advice. Maybe the proxxon would actually be better, but the dremel attachments probably don't fit the proxxon? And in the set for this price, apart from the flexible shaft, there were also 3 attachments and a lot of accessories (even a speed click starter). Kind regards!

So I also decided on dremel 4000 4/65 and bought it on Allegro with 494 shipping
    and what:
-two aluminum sleeves! I already had a better one in a 12v grinder - brass.
    - the grinder works unevenly, jerks
from 5-10 rpm it runs fine
    10-25 - jerks not evenly
at max RPM you can hear the engine slowing down and accelerating.

I will add today the goods came to me and I immediately checked the operation normally a nightmare
A friend has a multi-grinder for PLN 80 and it runs so smoothly a hundred times better.

And now the fun of sending back for a shock guarantee!

As I warned .... In my company, we run away from the 400 and 4000 versions, too many failures, instead of it, we recommend the cheaper 300 version, really no problem. And if you are looking for some cheap product at a reasonable price +/- PLN 150, I recommend such a green, richly equipped one from the LM network, you will not find a better one in its class.

If I have to advise you something, write in the complaint that you are demanding a refund, Bosch most often goes to the customer's hand and you have a good chance that you will receive the money. And with the money buy yourself a Proxxon/Dremel 300 ;)

Well, I've already played a bit with one 420 disc, I used it, I polished it with felts, so they won't take a refund.

Oh, I was going to put on the shaping attachment but it's so awesome in two places that I gave up.
I checked the beating and what's the result??
    it beats!!
I checked with different tips by applying a marker and in one place it was painted over and the other was not.
I wrung out the fur and in the middle, where the lower sleeve, I put a marker, moving it gently, drew an uneven line inside.

Advertise with what you have and what you used, as I know Bosch, they also come in handy in such cases and there are still high chances that it will be. It really depends on the company where you bought the product, what they will write in the complaint protocol, what you are demanding. Write to me in advance if you are interested in legal tricks that you can use in such a situation and how to settle the matter in the best way, I am here to help, we will not do off-topic ;)

I have already experienced that Dremel is not a good company at all.

Do you have any experience with PROXXON IB/E??

    Hello,

I have a question for xardas8891. If you are still in the industry, could you tell me if anything has improved in terms of the quality of the Dremel 4000?
It is still offered and theoretically the ratio of catalog technical parameters to price is the most encouraging.

    Regards

A friend bought the 3000 version - comparing to mine which I once bought 4000. The 3000 version has better regulation - I regulate it more smoothly and the 4000 had a step like.
The engine runs smoothly and is pleasant to listen to :D
As for the power, I have no comparison because my 4000 was given under warranty - which was not repaired, they only returned the full amount. But it guarantees that it is quite strong, grinding, cutting in wood, metal goes smoothly.
To sum up now, if I had to choose, I would buy the 3000 version.
Adding that the friend is a kid - what is known, they like to destroy everything, try everything, and yet the Dremel works as on the day of purchase.
    So much from me.

    Hello
I plan to buy a Dremel 4000 to make minor paint corrections on the car. Therefore, I have a few questions.
    - Firstly, can such a grinder be used at all to remove rust spots from the car body or rather give up immediately and immediately buy a normal angle grinder or drill. Of course, as I wrote, these are rust spots, so surfaces ranging from a few square millimeters to 10 square cm - sometimes in hard-to-reach places, where it would be difficult to reach with a large wire brush on a drill or a grinding disc - so it is not the surface of, for example, the entire door to be cleaned of rust or to polish only small areas.
    - second: How efficient are the grinding accessories of such a dremel. The prices seem low for a zloty, but if I had to use 10 brushes for PLN 2 each to grind rust on a surface of several square centimeters, it would be rather expensive. So, do the tips intended for grinding sheet metal wear out too quickly: I mean mainly metal brushes and grinding stones for removing rust.
    - thirdly: is the quality of the 4000 version still not worth recommending, or has nothing improved with them and there is still a risk that such a dremel will fail prematurely? I chose this particular model because it is the cheapest of this supposedly more decent series: feedback that maintains power regardless of the load and revolutions from 5000/min - these are the main features that convinced me to this device and power supply from the mains, not from the battery, so unlimited time work if you have a power outlet in the garage.
    - fourth: Will this tool be good at all for such grinding work on the car, i.e. whether its revolutions are not too high for such work - supposedly 5 to 10,000 revolutions per minute should be enough, but in drills you can have revolutions from several hundred per minute minute, which is much lower and thus there is a lower risk of damaging the substrate, e.g. wiping a hole in a thin sheet.
I would like competent answers to each of the above questions. I am especially counting on the responses of people who have used this device in similar works.

I bought 4000 and I'm returning it. In my opinion, the device is not worth the price.
Very little torque at low revs. As a result, it is not suitable for drilling. At low speeds, the drill will stop and at high speeds, it will melt the plastic instead of shining.
Plus, it gets very hot even with no load.

At this price, the solutions should already be better. As in Proxxon DC motor or preferably brushless motor.
Also cooling; if it's just a regular motor, it's an independent fan for cooling.
With today's technical possibilities, this is not the equipment you would expect.

It seems that it will be best and cheapest to make such a grinder yourself, because in fact it is a motor with a flexible shaft connected.

Archival topic I would say. So the equipment about which the topic is rather museum...
Is this Dremel suitable for drilling? I don't think so...
I drilled the printed circuit boards and would stay that way. There are drills for drilling holes.

Hi. Does the dremel 300 have speed control?

Out of curiosity, I googled: Dremel 300 speed control
first answer from the search engine (electrode!): Dremel 300 speed control
    Quote:
Hello, I need help repairing a dremel 300. Yesterday the speed control slider burned out.
    - the statement clearly shows that the dremel 300 has speed control!
My wife calls it laziness, my son - cool, he must have had a hard day, he doesn't have time - he's looking for a ram with curled horns, daughter (psychologist) - deer, just a soft tone and everyone will look for it instead, stress-free upbringing, give everything on a plate, including fresh linen washed by my mother...

Ps. I use a Dremel (newer model) for many activities - from cleaning and drilling in printed circuit boards, to cleaning inaccessible and rusted sheet metal edges in the car, to protect it with, for example, an epoxy primer.

    Regards Krzysztof.

Topic summary

The Dremel 4000 multi sander has received mixed reviews from users. Many praise its precision and versatility, making it suitable for detailed work, while others report issues with torque at low speeds and uneven operation. Comparisons with the Proxxon FBS 240/E suggest that while Dremel is more popular and has a powerful motor, Proxxon may offer better quality and smoother operation. Some users experienced defects in the 4000 model, leading to recommendations for the Dremel 300 series as a more reliable alternative. Overall, the Dremel 4000 is considered a good tool for occasional DIY use, but potential buyers are advised to be cautious of quality issues and consider their specific needs.
