Activating Sony R500 Tower's Amplifier Module for PC Use: Pin Connection Guide

    Hello.

I have an amplifier module from the Sony R500 tower and I would like to run it and make it a PC amplifier.

The pins come out of the module board:
    SYS MUTE
    AC3.4
    AC3.4
    -30V
    + 12V
    CD7.5
    + 12V
    SP DET
    G
    L
    G
    R

Which pin to connect to what would the module start playing ???
Under G and L I connect the input signal of the left channel and under G and R the signal input is the right channel. I also connect the loudspeakers to the input on the board and to the power supply and nothing can be heard. What is wrong??? The module behaves as if it was turned off. You can not hear any noise in the speaker.
The module is on the STK4182ii layout.
I have a tower service and datasheet of an integrated circuit, but I have not concluded anything.

Adds layout photos from the top and from the bottom:

I am asking for help in starting this system.

    Greetings.

I also connect the speakers to the input on the board.
    ?
I think under the column clamps. Meter in hand and measure the secondary side of the transformer, then the voltage behind the bridge and on the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply. If everything goes well, you have to look somewhere else, but then.

I connect the loudspeakers to the column clamps on the board. Tensions agree because the cousin checked and the rest of the module is pulled out of a working tower in which the CD did not work.

    Hello
On the 6th leg STK must be given from the negative power half from -2V to -10V
You have in the catalog note how to do it.

This is probably the relay that powers the bone supply. As it is on 12v it's probably one of the + 12v pins. Try to get through the mosaic of paths.

Because from what I know, if I turn this tower on, it should "tick" and it's only the sound for the speakers to go and you do nothing. Will try tomorrow on the paths to go to the relay and see what will be.

I read in the catalog note that in order for it to start, I must have 2 resistors 1K Ohm connected to the mass of the compress and to the Mute pin. If it's connected like this, then nothing will happen?

Ps. I plugged in as I wrote a moment ago and nothing is still the same silence and nothing more.

    What to do with this???

And what about this relay? How much is volt? does he power on the bone?

I did not check this relay because I did not have enough time to check it tomorrow. And someone would have the idea to run this system because I do not know how to start it.

Looking through the post I would like to ask what may be the reason for not starting this tower. Everything played until one day it fell silent. I unplugged the power several times but nothing changed. After connecting the power supply, the tower illuminates one or several keys (eg: CD1 or buttons from cassette control), there are only some incomplete inscriptions on the display. There is also no "snaps" when you press the power button. Can you do something about it?

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around activating a Sony R500 tower's amplifier module for use with a PC. The user seeks guidance on connecting various pins from the amplifier module, which include SYS MUTE, AC3.4, -30V, +12V, and others, to enable sound output. Despite connecting the left and right channel inputs and speakers, no sound is produced, leading to troubleshooting efforts. Participants suggest checking the power supply voltages, ensuring proper connections to the STK4182ii layout, and verifying the relay's functionality. The user learns that resistors may be needed to connect to the Mute pin for activation. The conversation highlights the importance of understanding the relay control system and potential issues with the power supply or internal components.
