    Hi,

I would ask for help because I'm green in this matter. I got an amplifier with Sony speakers and I would like to connect it to the TV. How do you make it play? I tried through HDMI and it doesn't work.

Looking at this receiver, there are 3 options for connecting 2 digital and 1 analog, a matter of what you have with the TV. Well, do you want to connect the TV itself or also a decoder on CP or nc + etc., please specify what kind of TV this receiver should work with.

HDMI OUT (receiver) >> HDMI IN (TV)

Monitor Out (receiver) Y / Pb / Pc >> three RCA cables >> Y / Pb / Pc IN (TV)
    or
Video Out (receiver) >> with one RCA cable >> SCART (TV), via RCA adapter> SCART (this may not work, depends on the TV)

Optical with (TV) >> optical in (receiver) - Fonia with TV
    Audio Out L / R (receiver) >> two RCA cables >> Audio IN L / R (TV)

@HD_Video - something colleague mixes the author of the topic with these variants of connections ... hyh

    @kseroboy - please answer precisely:

1 - what changes in TV settings did a friend make to get sound from the optical output?
2- what does the amplifier display show when a friend tries to get TV sound?
I mean which input and signal type.
3 - how do TV speakers behave during these tests?
4 - where is the signal from the TV taken from? (Satellite, cable, external decoder, etc.)
5 - any other devices connected to the TV?

And I see there that the column is connected to SPEAKER B. Connect under A or change the configuration to play on output B.

ad. 1 I don't see the changes to the external source in the settings. The instructions on the Philips website say only how to connect, but nothing more
ad.2 Nothing standard. It only shows what mode is on (I tried all available on the dial).

ad. 3 A slight noise, but it was so new.
ad. 4 YT, Netflix, TVNPlayer. I don't have an antenna or a decoder
ad. 5 Sometimes I connected a laptop via HDMI. But everything worked without problems

There is probably no front A. I can't see. With the rest it was always connected like this. The receiver had previously walked with speakers in the premises and was connected via HDMI to DVD.

and I don't understand why it doesn't work. Set the audio source correctly in the amplifier - in this case TV. Find the audio format in the TV's audio menu. Try changing RAW to PCM or vice versa.

Please enter model of this amplifier.

And just in case - the plastic covers on the ends of the optical cable were removed?

Does this mean that the TV has no sound at all on these applications?
If so, then the idea of connecting to an amplifier does not make sense.
    Please explain this carefully.

The sound is coming from the TV. As if I didn't connect anything

Heh, it's hard to understand these answers ...

We'll start with the amplifier first.
    Here I assume that:
    - the television is connected to the amplifier by an optical cable
    - in the amplifier, the optical cable is connected to the socket marked TV
    - HDMI cable disconnected from these devices (*)
    - columns connected to outputs A or B

    And now:

1 - the photo of the amplifier display clearly shows that both speaker outputs are turned off.
Depending on where a colleague connected these columns, the speaker output should be turned on - the "Speakers" button on the amplifier panel.

2 - select the "TV" input and then check if the input is in "Auto" mode - the "Input mode" button on the amplifier panel.

That's it for now - please check it out and write what effect these suggestions have brought.

(*) - HDMI cable can also be used to get TV sound in this amplifier.
But when using an optical cable this HDMI cable is unnecessary.
