Hello, I would like to ask if anyone can help me find a problem with AM/FM tuner for Sony MHC-S7AV. Based on the investigation, I know that the problem is with tuner modul FS281-11 (I have two and the second is working properly). With tuner modul I can tune FM stations and I can see RDS information, but cannot hear sound or noise during the tuning as well.
I have tried to check PCB (without supply) and measured ways from LA1844 (pin 13 and 14) and I cannot see any problem - transistors working, inductance has resistance.
My question is how to check carefully if the problem is with LA1844? What is the correct voltage on the pins 13/14 after supply.
    What can be wrong next?

Since the RDS information is displayed correctly, it means that the FM demodulator itself is working. There is a potential problem on the downstream path of LA1844 and the downstream path is a stereo decoder.
    Legs 13 and 14 typically 3.2V

Check if you have an audio signal on the 18th foot, connect to it with an external amplifier and can you hear anything there?
The foot 10 does the mute. You have to check if there is something wrong with the voltages that activate the lock.

    Thanks for fast reply.

I have tried to measure voltage at pins 13 and 14 and see picture below.
Points 1 (output from transistor) has 3.6-3.8V, points 2 (output from IC) has 1.8V and points 3 (output from capacitor) has 0V (without supply).
It looks like that capacitors C57 and C58 are wrong - they are on the serial way between the transistor and inductance.

Pin 10 (Mute) was close to 0V (definitely less than 0.5V).

I have measured tuner again and problem was solved by replacing capacitors C57 and C58 - they are on the path (pins) 13 and 14 from LA1844.

At the same time I have replaced capacitors C31, C50 and C47, looked bad as well. They are between the pins 18-16, 18-17 and pin 11-12. They did not have effect to sound, but information about the stereo stopped blinking.

Now tuner working properly, topic can be closed...
