    Welcome.
    I have this problem:
There the door in my car lowered, or I don't know what happened, that it had to be slammed lustily to get it to close . I tried something to adjust the hinges and for 6 hours I toiled, but it is still harder because it rubs against a piece of the rear door when closing.

Is there any way to adjust the door without driving to a mechanic?

These are the driver's door on an 87r Toyota Camry.

    Please help
    .
    (???) - ornament? [h] .

Well, unfortunately, the only method is, as you write, adjustment on the hinges, but it is a difficult thing that a good tinsmith should do. However, I suggest you try to return the door to an earlier position so that it does not rub against the rear door, do it with the help of someone because you are not able to adjust the door yourself and tighten it, because someone has to hold it in the position you set. After setting the door to its original state and firmly tightening its hinges, grab it through the open glass and pull it upwards very strongly until it sets in a position that will allow you to close them freely. Do not be afraid to do so - all tinsmiths do. Remember that the regulations should still have the door at the pillar on the lock. It's strange that these things suddenly started to happen to you. either something went wrong at the hinges or just the lock. Or the car had a key and you don't even know it, and somebody repaired it incorrectly. Regards, write about the effects of further regulations.

It may sound funny - but recently my brother had a similar problem ...

Well, it turned out - the bolts fastening the lock loosened and the door closed as they wanted - but always with great resistance - they had to be treated like a mother-in-law ;)

Try to return the hinged door without rubbing - and then try to play around with the handle on the post - there is a lock on it (what is it professionally called ?? :( ) you have the option to adjust there or on the lock on the door.

    greetings

As autosuper says, you have to arrange the door as it was set at the factory and then, with the door open, pull it up by your own force, it will set itself up, I myself saw how they did such things in a body shop.
I always pay attention to people who lean against me, because then there are such effects.

I'm sorry, but what it will give me is pulling up, as they will be firmly screwed on the hinges, even nothing goes wrong.

But I'll try on Saturday and see, I will have to start in the morning, because the whole day will probably come together, if not longer.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Believe me, it gives a lot, the hinges do not come off, but the door pulled up a bit because it failed slightly so that you will not even see it visually.

And you can't use washers for the door bolts that are inserted between the hinges. If this does not help - a tinsmith remains.

I propose to return to the previous state with the door and try to make adjustments on the lock striker (i.e. on the body pillar. You can lift it a little, etc.)

If the bolt on the post has not loosened (traces of the previous position are usually visible) the door overlaps the rear door or even rubs, loosen the fastening of the upper hinge, slightly lift on the adjustment and tighten.
I don't remember exactly Toyota right now, but it should be able to do so.
The hinged regulation does not have all the Opel colors, only the bolt adjustment on the pillar remains.

PS. If you can't make it, come to Częstochowa, I'll do it for you ;)
This is my bread and butter.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting a misaligned driver's door on a 1987 Toyota Camry that requires excessive force to close properly. Users suggest adjusting the door hinges and lock striker to restore the door to its original position. Techniques include pulling the door upwards while tightening the hinges and checking for loose bolts on the lock. If these adjustments do not resolve the issue, the use of washers between the hinges or consulting a tinsmith is recommended. The importance of ensuring the door does not rub against the rear door is emphasized throughout the responses.
