Hello, I have a problem with the handle on the balcony door, namely it does not close, it remains in the position as shown in the picture below.

I have to press the door in the lower part, only then can I push the handle to the lower position.

I have a question whether and in which exact picture can I adjust the door, should I replace the handle and after the problem? Alternatively, if and what element is lubrication sufficient to smoothly close the door handle?

I am asking for advice from professionals in this field because I do not want to damage the door and I do not know anything about it. I read a few articles about the door and found out that it is adjustable with screws. Therefore, I am asking for a hint on which image should I start the adjustment, or whether a complete replacement of the handle will solve the problem.

The handle has nothing to do with:

This means that the door has probably warped or the locking elements have displaced.
Did the necessity of pressing occur within a few days of installing the door or after a longer period of use?

Definitely after a few years, i.e. the block is from 2006 and I have had this problem for about two years.

    You regulate in places:
1 The lower hinge, you remove it upwards with the plastic cover. Under it you have a hole with a 4 mm hexagon socket screw - it is used to raise and lower the sash.

2 You open the sash wide. Now, depending on the hardware, the same screw is in the corner above the hinges or a dozen or so centimeters towards the center of the sash. It is used to tilt the sash inwards.

3 Some hardware allows you to set the pressure of the sash to the frame. There is a 4 mm hexagonal socket on the sliding bolt, the bolt is mounted eccentrically. I do not know if you have such a possibility - bad photos. You lubricate with grease, e.g. CX80 moving elements, the seal with technical petroleum jelly.

You described it to me, thanks, but please explain it to me on the basis of numbered pictures posted by me. Specifically, in which picture what should I unscrew from the beginning and in which picture what should I oil.

In the middle of photo 4 you have the sliding bolt marked. It moves up and down in line with the cutout along with the flat bar from under the bottom to which it is attached. You need to lubricate the space between these flat bars. Examine the fittings around the sash and lubricate them all. Photo 3, middle marking, if the profile underneath moves after turning the handle, also lubricate it. As for the problem with setting the handle, it may even be a seal that has hardened with age, you can buy it on the Allegro by the meter.

I greased the sliding bolts, but also had to adjust the door up and down on the lower right hinge. The handle works much better, but it does not close fully loosely as it should. Should I lift the door on the bolt even more (I already turned it hard) or maybe the left and right adjustment will help, but I do not know exactly where I am on the door. Hmm, will replacing the handle itself help? In addition, I would like to share an innovative method for cleaning PVC windows, i.e. a product that costs about PLN 20 called PVC Reiniger 10, 1000ml. The seller advised me of this and it works really well, stains or very strong dirt on the PVC window or radiators are removed without any problems. A white cloth so that it does not leave marks and works. This is not an advertisement, but my experience. I had an old dirty window vent and it looks like new after using the agent.

There may be a problem if the block has settled and the door frame has been pinched.

Despite doing the above steps, however, the door handle still does not close, can you tell me what else I could do to fix this unfortunate door handle?

The block is settling, the frame is noticed and the rally door has stopped closing.

You do not know each other, do not think about it, call a specialist or the company that founded, because straightening and advising through the forum how to straighten a twisted window is a bad idea. And the price for the service will probably not ruin you, so ask before performing the service :D

Okey, I'll take it into account, but I'd like to try it myself. Maybe a hint on how to go about it?

I propose one more attempt. With the door open, try to close the handle completely (if you cannot close it, check if there is a lock in the middle of the door - photo 3 and hold it manually). Write what is the effect.

Hello. I had a similar symptom and after locking the window in the closed position, it turned out that the handle was elegantly simple (the window was open only on the side, I turned the lock). I started to figure it out and it turned out that after renovation (cleaning) one hinge lock in the window frame at the bottom was simply turned 180 °. Everything worked, the handle almost closed. After unscrewing and setting it correctly, everything works.

This year, the same problem appeared again and finally I managed to grasp it, namely at the bottom hinge from the top, the top and bottom of the door are adjusted. On the other hand, after opening the door, there is a keyhole at the bottom in the lower hinge, which also regulates the door, and it helped. This year the door started to squeak sharply when opening and despite the multiple oiling of the door, nothing helped, so I took it seriously and it turned out that the door was rubbing against the plastic with the frame, so this screw is used to adjust the door pressure.

Maybe some photos that would show where exactly you regulated and what exactly causes that the handle does not want to close completely?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a balcony door handle that fails to close properly, requiring the user to press the door to engage the handle. Users suggest that the issue may stem from door warping or misalignment of locking elements, particularly after years of use. Solutions include adjusting the lower hinge using a hex screw to raise or lower the door, lubricating moving parts with grease (e.g., CX80) and petroleum jelly, and checking for hardened seals that may need replacement. Some users recommend inspecting the sliding bolt and fittings for lubrication, while others mention the possibility of the door frame settling or being pinched. If adjustments do not resolve the issue, consulting a specialist is advised. Additionally, a user shares a cleaning product, PVC Reiniger 10, for maintaining PVC windows.
