Dear all, I'm looking for a fine pressure sensor to detect about 50 cm height. Actually, I have a robot that I need to detect the height of his hand. Is HP209F Smart Precision Barometer and Altimeter useful? link: Anybody has idea to this problem or any suggestion for sensor? Thank you beforehand

Is a pressure sensor best option? If only to find relative pressure difference, think it could be used (don't need to take account for the local pressure of the day). Didn't see datasheet, but can it detect pressure difference smaller than 0.05 mbar (= 50cm)?

sure there is. use an ultrasound distance sensor. problem solved.
