Hello. Don't ask why, but I have a computer that doesn't have any frame. My question: when there is no RAM in the computer, should anything happen after pressing the "power" button? blinking lights, sounds? Or maybe nothing will start without the frame and nothing happens after pressing the "power" button?

    Welcome,
After starting the computer without RAM, the cooling (fans) should start, the POWER diode on the front panel should be lit. The system speaker should beep (memory error code) - although I had a board that did not squeal from the speaker without RAM. More than that, nothing else should happen (especially no image on the screen).

Ok, thanks a lot for the answer. I have a computer without a frame (all the rest is) but when I press power, nothing happens, the computer does not respond to this button, although it is also functional and well connected. Symptoms as if the power supply is damaged, but unfortunately the diode on the motherboard is on ... so the computer does not start and everything seems to be working.

The LED may be on even if the power supply is damaged.

the computer does not start, does not respond to the power button - so a great chance that the power supply is the cause of the problems, since the diode does not matter.

The fault occurred as follows: someone fired the computer, checked the e-mail and left it without turning off for 8 hours on the road. He probably hibernated or it is not known what is set in windows 7 on the standard .. anyway, when I came across him after 8 hours, he was already turned off (he turned off) and did not respond to the power button. How do you think the power supply failed?

The LED on the board lights up when + 5V StandBy is supplied from the power supply. What is this power supply (brand, model / power?)

Kindly start by giving your full configuration.
    Nobody will predict.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

Look at the board's power section for bulged capacitors.
Disconnect the Power cable and connect the Reset cable to the board connector.
Press Reset and check if the computer starts up.
    CPU power plugged in ?.

everything is in its place and looks good, this is the worst because I can not clearly state the fault. only when I put my ear to the power supply, I hear a sound as if some cinematographer who chews the frames ... something in the pattern of the first seconds of this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_-EvyyNJ14 - probably not normally the power supply makes such sounds? when I connect the power supply cable and put my ear, you can hear something like this (silently)

Put the ram, e.g. from a friend and try to turn on the computer. If it does not start, the disk, the processor, test someone on the disc. Alternatively, give the computer to a "doctor", you will pay about PLN 20 and they will check everything separately. Check the cables if they are properly connected to the board , disk, CPU. Check the I / O button on the back of the computer, maybe it is on O and it does not fire. Make sure that there is a current flow in the socket

Topic summary

When a computer is powered on without RAM, the cooling fans should activate, the power LED should light up, and the system speaker may emit a memory error beep, although some motherboards may not beep at all. If the computer does not respond to the power button, it may indicate a power supply failure, despite the motherboard LED being lit. The user reported a Chieftec 650W CFT-650-14CS power supply, which may be faulty. Suggestions include checking the power supply connections, testing with known working RAM, and examining the motherboard for bulged capacitors. If issues persist, professional diagnostics may be necessary.
