Hello. As the topic. My monitor has fallen today and I don't have any money to buy a new one. However, I have a laptop (asus k50c) and I would like to use it as a second monitor. The question is, can it be done? If so, I would ask for any advice. I would be very grateful as I dreadfully need my PC right now.

Ok :) For now, I will probably be forced to get the 42 "plasma ;)

As mentioned above - it is impossible to do this directly, but you can use some software that allows you to work remotely on a PC - WTS (present in some versions of Windows), VNC or FreeNX. Of course, to configure the server of such a service, you need to borrow a monitor from somewhere ...

Hmm ... I also assumed that possibility ... But could you explain to me why?

Because the laptop screen connects to the graphics card with a completely different connector than the typical "monitor" connector. Indeed, in this day and age, getting a CRT monitor is not a problem. If you turn well, you can give up some old LCD screens for a four-pack of beer ;-)
