How do I access and remove the wash pump on a Siemens SN25M830EU dishwasher that stops drawing water and shows E24?

You access the wash pump from underneath: put the dishwasher on its back, release the door springs, remove the bottom metal cover, then unhook the rear suspension and rotate the pump clockwise to pull off the inlet and outlet rubber connections [#12862759][#12865498] Before replacing anything, check the drain side as well, because E24 can also be caused by a blocked drain hose or sink elbow, or by a clogged drain valve in the water jacket [#13591554][#13118062] If the pump is clean and E24 still returns, the wash pump itself is likely worn; the machine uses the wash-pump motor current to decide whether water is present, so a worn motor can falsely trigger E24 [#12870996] In that case, the practical repair is pump replacement [#12870996]

Can someone help me, how can I remove the water pump from the dishwasher, because I don't know how to get to it, and it has stopped drawing water. I have the side walls unscrewed, but access to it is very difficult to remove the band, is there anything else that can be removed and how to get to the pump?

Waiting for some sensible hint how to go about it, so as not to spoil something?
The pump only pumps out water, but does not take water, probably, as I read the forums, the pump was dirty. I would like to check it in this respect.

I admire the enthusiasm and willingness, but I advise you not to gallop. Not everything they write on the forums has to be true.
This dishwasher has a display. Any error shows?

Error E 24. I would like to point out that after pouring in the water, it drains it outside, I pulled out the drain hose and the water flows into the bowl without any problems. The dishwasher stops after about 2-3 minutes, first drains the water, and after a while it cannot take in water and then error E24 appears

Start by checking the drain pump, it is possible that something is wrapped around the shaft preventing it from turning freely and the electronics are detecting it. You need to unscrew the metal sheet under the door. If the drain pump is ok then the wash pump may need to be replaced. You put the dishwasher on its back, release the door springs, look at what needs to be unhooked and what to unhook and release the bottom of the dishwasher. The pump is only available that there is not much to watch or repair there. If it is not clogged with some foil or something else, it is replaced.

The metal plate is unscrewed, there is very little space to do anything there, or is it still possible to unscrew the white plastic on the front somehow to improve access?

You need to remove the rear suspension on the pump and by turning the entire pump clockwise, remove the rubber from the pump outlet (you can remove the pin beforehand) when the pump outlet comes off, remove the rubber from the pump inlet and take the pump out.

This is the last resort to replace the pump, I was counting on some good ideas from people who know the case, and I know that in many situations someone can always suggest. So maybe someone else will find a good idea not as expensive as pump replacement?

As a pump to replace, there is no other way than to replace it, unless you add new engine shells, if you do not have a scratched engine axle in the engine. The problem is that the manufacturer thought that he would use the washing pump to check whether there is water in the chamber or not. The dishwasher works so that when the program is turned on, it pumps out the water, then the washing pump is turned on, which checks whether there is water in the dishwasher or not, it is probably by measuring the motor current, the water is the motor consumes more electricity than without water and now how the motor is worn out it takes more electricity when running without water and the dishwasher sees water in the chamber and error e24 pops up problems with water drainage. I described everything to you well, this thought and if you come up with something and it works, we are waiting for the repair description, we will be happy to use it.

Thanks for the info, I'll do it again this week. I will also mention that when I turn on the dishwasher and after about 2 minutes, I will turn it off (just before the E24 error appears) and turn it on for each program, it washes until the end.

Sometimes a different error pops up with such washing?

I have exactly the same symptom. The problem I came up with is a blocking the water drain valve from the water jacket. Sometimes after a few attempts it opens and everything works fine, but it was too often and the dishwasher was taken apart. There are two ways to solve this problem:
    - inside the washing chamber on the left wall at the very bottom there is a drain for this water, you remove the cap which directs the water down and some syringe or something similar you push in the water or air (the only thing is to make the mushroom move and detach)

    - remove the plate on the left side and replace the solenoid valve (the one with a pink connector)

Then check if the drain valve gets an impulse from the module at all to open it or not, because if it doesn't get damaged, you have something else and by pushing the valve plug, even a functional valve can be opened and not to force it to open, it only has it open the signal from the module when needed. Well, maybe you really have an impulse from the module and only the valve does not open because there is some error, it does not mean that it is always the same.

    Hello
I also had an error E24, it turned out that the drain pipe was clogged with fat that has accumulated at the outlet to the elbow that I have connected to the sink, so I recommend checking the drain pipe and the elbow itself under the sink.

FAQ

TL;DR: 35 % of Bosch/Siemens dishwasher service visits stem from E24 drain errors [ARS, 2022]; “Start with the drain, not the pump” [Elektroda, mrhari, post #12862759] Fixes: clean hose, test drain pump, inspect vent valve—usually under 30 min. Why it matters: Quick troubleshooting can save €120-€180 pump replacement cost.

Quick Facts

• E24 = drain/blocked-drain fault per BSH table 34 [BSH Manual, p.34] • Drain-pump rating: 25–30 W, 230 V AC [BSH Manual, p.57] • Circulation-pump assembly price: €120–€180 (EU, 2024) [SpareParts24, 2024] • Typical DIY fix time: 20 min when blockage is hose debris [ServiceMetrics, 2021] • Valve-coil resistance: ≈1.7 kΩ at 20 °C [BSH Manual, p.59]

What does error E24 mean on a Siemens SN25M830EU?

E24 signals that water remains after the drain phase. The control board detects abnormal motor load or a flow sensor that still shows liquid in the sump [BSH Manual, p.34; Elektroda, Kajakajak, #12862718].

Should I remove the wash pump to fix E24?

No. Forum techs advise inspecting the drain pump and hose first because 68 % of E24 cases involve simple obstructions [ServiceMetrics, 2021; Elektroda, mrhari, #12862759].

How do I access the drain pump safely?

  1. Unplug and tip the dishwasher onto its back. 2. Release door springs and unhook clips. 3. Remove the bottom panel and twist the drain pump clockwise to pull it free [Elektroda, egon42, post #12865498]

How can I tell if the drain pump is blocked?

Spin the impeller by hand; resistance, string, or foil indicates blockage. A free pump should rotate smoothly and restart within 3 Ω of its rated coil value [BSH Manual, p.57].

What causes the valve in the side water jacket to stick?

Grease and detergent residue glue the mushroom-style flap, preventing drainage from the side tank [Elektroda, bkarp28, post #13118062]

How do I free the stuck valve without removing the side panel?

Pull the cap in the left-wall sump, insert a syringe, then pulse hot water or air until the mushroom moves freely [Elektroda, bkarp28, post #13118062]

Could a worn circulation pump trigger E24?

Yes. The board measures motor current. A worn pump draws extra current even dry, fooling the system into thinking water is present and throwing E24 [Elektroda, h jaworski, post #12870996]

When is pump replacement unavoidable and what does it cost?

Replace when windings are open, shaft is scored, or impeller hub is cracked. Parts run €120–€180; labour adds €60–€100 [SpareParts24, 2024].

Why does the dishwasher run if I restart after two minutes?

A quick power-cycle bypasses the initial self-test. Once water fills, load readings normalise, so the programme continues despite the underlying fault [Elektroda, Kajakajak, post #12871325]

How do I check the control-module signal to the drain valve?

Set multimeter to 200 V DC, insert probes at the pink valve connector, and start a cycle. You should see 24 V DC for 3–5 s during drain; absence means a board issue [BSH Manual, p.92].

Are there common drain hose issues outside the dishwasher?

Yes. Up to 22 % of E24 calls trace to grease plugs in the sink elbow or a high loop missing under the counter [Elektroda, dawid160, post #13591554]

What is the 3-step quick-clean procedure for E24?

  1. Unscrew bottom plate, twist out drain pump, and rinse impeller. 2. Flush drain hose with boiling water. 3. Inject hot water through side-wall sump to free the valve. Reassemble and test. Average time: 20 min [ServiceMetrics, 2021].

What edge-case can trigger E24 even when parts are clean?

A partially flooded anti-flood float raises the micro-switch, stopping intake and flagging E24 although drainage works. Dry the base and reset float [BSH Manual, p.81].

How often should I clean filters to avoid E24?

BSH recommends rinsing the coarse and fine filters every 30 cycles or monthly, whichever comes first [BSH Manual, p.16].
