    Hello.
I got last power supply model: OCZ500MXSP, the power supply of course does not work and does not give any voltage, from what I know it did not work on too strong components for him. For 3 years it has not been opened, I have just removed the seal. I was able to locate a molten chip, from which there is no way to read anything.

I was with this power supply at a friend on the site and because of the fact that he now has a lot of work, he told me what is the designation of this element, then he will take it to the workshop and verify all the elements and try to diagnose the cause of the failure.

Below I will put a picture of the burnt element, a plate, the bottom of the PCB together with the marked place where the burnt system is located and the rest of the elements around it.

Underneath the PCB, I saw two more suspicious elements, which I marked with magnification.
Thank you in advance for any tips and hints, the most important (if it is possible) to identify the designation of the burnt element and the possible cause of failure, and what to look for during the diagnosis. If more details are needed, please write.

This can be, for example, an integrated circuit like TNY277 Power Integrations or (others see the link), and check your own connections according to the diagram below. Please specify whether there is yet one integrated 8 PIN chip on the original page. And what integrated circuit is on the secondary side of the power supply.

I have checked and it is TNY278P from Power Integrations. The price of such an arrangement ranges from 5 to 10 PLN.

    Thanks for the answers.
For me in the city I was able to find probably the original TNY277PN, can you use it or better to order somewhere on the internet TNY278P?

One 13W and the other 16W. The power supply will of course go, but the 5V stand-by line will have a slightly lower current efficiency.

Kolego xensis that's why in the above post I gave link to the application, and there on the first page in the table, which I put below is everything described. Pay attention to the part marked in green.

Minimal continuous power in a typical unventilated closed power supply measured at 50 ° C ambient. The use of an external heat sink (may increase) the power supply capacity of the stand-by inverter (the given IC model has two operating parameters) :D

    Hello
I have the same problem. Did you manage your xensis friend to fix the power supply? What was the cause of the damage to the system? For me after the exchange the system exploded. :(
    greetings

Unfortunately, I have not been able to fix it yet.
When I have time to check and the money to buy and exchange the systems for new ones (of course if I can fix it) I will write what was the reason.
    greetings
