I am looking for information on repairing the electric power steering, but I only found that it is a common problem in these cars. It helps to replace the entire transmission, of which there are several versions, because they improved it. I would like to know what exactly is damaged and whether it can be repaired. The symptom is that there is no power steering and the steering wheel light is red. Previously, the steering wheel light turned yellow or red sporadically. If the light was red, there was no support. Shows torque sensor error.

I didn`t write it down, but if I remember correctly, it`s G269, the steering torque or steering force sensor.

I wish you good luck when you get to the electronics and fix it and give someone a warranty for it.

because this is not a modus/clio where DF002 is "repaired" within 5 minutes

I want to repair it, in the old instructions, each gear element was replaceable separately, even the sensor. The only question is whether it is the fault of the sensor or the control electronics. For now, I`m researching the topic, I haven`t taken it apart yet. Maybe someone has already practiced the topic and knows what exactly is the cause. I don`t count on repairing it in 5 minutes, but a used one costs about PLN 400, but I don`t know if it has to be exactly the same number because apparently there were several changes and they also fit with a different number. When buying a used one, I don`t know if it will break down in a month or two. Apparently you can regenerate it for PLN 500. In both cases, there is the cost of replacement and geometry adjustment, which means the costs are high.

but it`s the same in other electric ones, e.g. what`s the point of buying a power steering for Clio or Modus for PLN 100-200, COMPLETELY apart from that, because you`ll install it and it won`t start after the first one, and after the second time it won`t work. Even if you resolder the eeprom in it, it won`t work. There are two people in Poland who do this, a company in Poland and me, and that`s why I say the topic is difficult. Even if you buy a virgin, the Renault gearbox won`t work either :) Nissan, Reno, Ford Fiat, etc. etc. Look for electronics here, it doesn`t matter which one fits the hooks, just change the VIN and it should work. It is their fault these problems. You can theoretically replace G269, but it is not known whether it will help.

What year are these "miracles" from?
Recently I replaced such devices in a Scenic II and a Nissan Micra (both after 2005). Plug end play, only the rods need to be adjusted because the steering wheel fits onto the shaft only in one place.

If the steering wheel is "inclined" when driving straight and the shaft fits in exactly one place, it must be adjusted on the rods, unless there is another way. In the VAG group, you can mount the steering wheel on any shaft and there is no such problem.

    Hello.

Today, during normal driving, when turning, the red steering wheel light came on and there was no power steering.

    I connected the Vag Can Pro interface and there is an error in the power steering system;

    "Controller number
    --
    1K1909144K EPS_ZFLS Kl.5 D06 00 0000000 1701
Errors found 668(0x029C):22 Voltage in the electrical installation, terminal 30 Lower limit exceeded Lamp OFF sporadic"

Is this a minor defect (which I doubt) or does the steering gear need to be replaced?

Unfortunately no... I wanted to check, but access is difficult.
I`m curious about this error - can the same content be present in the case of a damaged engine?

I checked the fuse in the car, probably the third one in a row, and it`s ok.

PS. I checked right after the fault... unless there is another one under the hood, but they are probably all good.

I found the harness on the side member. There are 6 cables in the plug, after checking with a meter, two of them have a voltage of 12.45 V, one of them is about 10.40 V, two of them are 2 V with pennies, and the 6th one is ground.

I have cleaned the mass, but it didn`t help.
There is also electricity on the thick power cable.

I drove around a bit after the procedure, but the same thing - no support.

It`s probably best to check the harness, the plugs at the gearbox...

Below are photos of the mentioned beam.

    Hello.
I replaced it with a transmission from a Golf Plus 5 from 2008. EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING LIKE CRAZY ;)

    Thanks and best regards.
