    Hello.

When reversing in the parking lot, my tire hit the sharp edge of the curb slightly.
This is the right front tire.
The tire does not lose air or has any bulges, no wires or fibers are visible, it looks like rubber only.
In general, this hanging piece was glued with super glue and generally I poured glue over the entire defect.

It is a pity to replace the tires, because it is almost new, with a good tread and it is very difficult to pay at all ...

Below are photos of the damage to this tire.

I would like to ask if you can go on with such minimal damage, or maybe it is better to give it to the rear, for example, or maybe replace it completely?

Unfortunately, any damage to the sidewall of the tire disqualifies it from further use because it would probably have ended tragically.
Moreover, such a damaged tire cannot be repaired.

    Hello
I know people who can hide such damage and transfer the damaged side to the inner wheel.
That is why I advise against such ideas, because at high speeds it can end tragically. Ultimately, you can use the tire as a spare wheel, i.e. an access road.
    greetings.

A tire to throw away, it makes no sense to risk your own health and life and that of other road users.

Sometimes you also drive on a dojazdówce ... so for me, throwing it in as a spare and moving the tire with a crack to the inside of the car is no different.

    Thanks for the answers.

After pouring glue, it looks like this:

VW Golf II - Tire caught on the curb, is it suitable for further use VW Golf II - Tire caught on the curb, is it suitable for further use

I put it to the back, it's on the passenger side of the back.

If he shoots in the back it will be very bad?

I am a bit afraid to drive like this, but I have a hard time with money and I have other problems with this car,
In general, I drive the car with 400 km per month, mainly the city plus the outskirts, speeds usually up to 70 km / h, no max 90 km / h outside the city ...

Because if I wanted to replace it now, it would be the same with the same tread pattern and 1 piece, it would be rather difficult for me to get. Because I've heard that a different tire pattern is coming off, right?
So then you would have to replace two, and this is also a greater cost ...

    I don't know what to do :(

The glue will not do anything, if you have no choice, because it will not twist the whip anyway ..... it will not twist the whip, so you will still ride, even if 29 posts were on them.

At vulcanizers who sell used tires, sometimes when buying a new pair, you can leave the one that is fully settled. And is it better at the rear or at the front, imagine that your car breaks in a corner and the rear of the car suddenly loses grip and starts to go as it pleases.
And one more thing, you think that if the police stop you, they will let it go, because I think that when they see the sticking marks, you will be more messed up if nothing was done because there would be no "But I didn't know" excuse.

Man, do you want to hurt someone or yourself?
Would you risk having sex in a glued eraser with a "viral" lady? Maybe a strange comparison, but the risk is the same ...

    This tire will go off.
    ..sooner or later.
And you will either be lucky because it will happen on a straight road at low speed, or we will read another news with a description " In mysterious circumstances, the VW driver pulled down .. ".

High temperature and hot brakes will increase the pressure, you will get in and forget about the tear, the glue will crumble because the rubber is constantly moving.

This glue holds as much as the dead with their teeth ...

Each policeman or diagnostician keeps your ID card at this moment and allows you to go home up to 40 km / h.

Anyway, we translate and he will do his job anyway ...

This is a fault that threatens the safety of road traffic, in this case there is a ban on further driving and a tow truck (it will be more expensive than a set of new tires :D ).
You can take the proof and allow you to continue driving in the event of a broken bumper or a rusty reflector in the headlight, and not in this case.

I wonder how many of you specialists here would buy a new tire. He did not get caught on the wires, so what to worry about? Maybe ask him about the power supply model he has at home or about the radio cables if they are too thin.

Better buy a bald one, as long as it is not cracked, unless your life is not pleasant

At home, he can even have a bomb, but the only thing is that if I fart @ I don't let the neighbors get it.
You can fit the same tire model or buy some stimulants if there is no money, and not risk it. With time, water will get in, the warp canvases will crack, and it will end in the usual manner.
Everyone assumes that nothing happened, a slight scratch, the wheel did not fall off, you can go only explain it to those who accidentally hope for a car with a blown tire.

This is a golf II 1.3, so it probably has 175/70 / R13, so a new tire costs less than PLN 100 if you look for it well, and when it comes to used ones, for PLN 100 you can buy a decent R13 with rims (look for private advertisements, not tires, or as I said, buy two stimulants from a tire fitter and leave the other one working properly.
Unfortunately, the car is not a TV set, here you have to constantly invest, and even so a colleague is in such a comfortable situation that for PLN 50 you can buy a bag of new or used parts (plastics, etc.).

Replace these tires with, for example, retreaded tires, they are cheaper.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a VW Golf II's right front tire that sustained minor damage after hitting a curb. The tire shows no visible air loss or bulges, but the owner applied super glue to the damaged area. Responses from the forum emphasize that any sidewall damage disqualifies the tire from safe use, with many advising against driving on it due to safety risks. Suggestions include using the tire as a spare or replacing it entirely, as the glued area poses a significant risk, especially at higher speeds. The owner expresses financial concerns about replacing the tire, noting the difficulty in finding a matching tread pattern. Ultimately, the consensus is that safety should take precedence over cost, and it is recommended to invest in a new or retreaded tire.
