Hello. I have recently Opel Zafire 1.9 CDTI 150KM Diesel. Everything was ok until yesterday when I was driving on the highway and suddenly the CAR WITH A KEY light came on and the car lost power, i.e. it was driving without a turbo. I drove off, turned off the car and turned it on again and the light went out, the car started to drive normally, it was full of power, the turbo was working, but after 2 minutes, the same thing again, i.e. the car lost power. The engine runs smoothly, does not smoke and runs normally. The car accelerates to a maximum of 120 and up to 3 thousand revolutions. And one more important thing that when I go and stop, I turn off the car and turn it on again, the car goes torch better, you can hear the turbo pumping for a while, but after a while it's the same. In general, now the light is on all the time and the car has no power, but as I said, after turning it off for a while, the car drives "relatively" normally, but it's still not what it should be. Can you help something?? :)

The engine goes into emergency mode and reduces power, something is out, go to the computer and read the errors, then I will help you.

If you have a DPF, driving like this will kill the filter.

First, check the vacuum lines from the vacum pump to the turbo control valve under the front right side member.

There, at the pump, there will be two rubber hoses that often break.

I just checked the wires and they are fine. And when the engines are cold now, you can hear that the turbo is pumping, but I would probably drive the car to warm up and lose the night again.

Cars are not your industry, take them to repair and hello ... no diagnosis, no advice ...

I was at the computer today and it showed error P0380, which is Glow plug fault. The error was cleared, the CAR WITH A KEY indicator went out, but the car still did not drive normally. After driving 5 km, the light with the key came on again, but it went out right away, but the yellow engine-shaped light came on. The car began to lose and stopped because it had no strength to go. General now only lights up when I press the gas pedal, it spins only up to 1.5 thousand and has no strength to move at all. I read the errors with the accelerator pedal, brake and ignition switch and I read the following errors 24520F, 227956 and 242F75. Now P0380 no longer appeared. Anyone got an idea? I'm going to take the car to the mechanic, but knowing the mechanics, they will start replacing everything one by one, etc. And I want to direct it myself, more or less, what to do at the beginning.

It is enough if you find someone who can diagnose the car, just deleting errors is not enough.

Inform the mechanic that the tester has the function of viewing engine operating parameters, this is enough to focus on the fault.

24520F is from the PDF filter, P2279 - Leak detected in the air intake system, 242F75 is also from the DPF, so everything is known, also look at the EGR.

I don't do any diagnostics for such clients, I just do the commissioned work, and when they "soften" then they tell me to find the fault myself...
Don't write nonsense and don't "drive" any mechanic ... find one at home recommended by drivers ...

If anyone has a problem, as in the subject, I already explain: the hoses from the vacuum like to crack, the intercooler has screwed elbows and a rubber gasket under them, it burns out and there is no tightness in the supercharger system, cracking hoses from the turbo to the collector. After fixing the leak, the turbo works, the errors are erased and the Zafira flashes like gold. For deleting, I recommend torqe + adapter for PLN 25 but expensive. Regards

Hello. I have the same problem of leaks in the system, the mechanic said that the exhaust manifold and rotating blades are well supposedly broken

It is possible that the swirl flaps have large clearances on the pins and there is a leak in the collector - then the collector should be replaced (dentures in welding, plugging do not make sense because after time it will take revenge anyway ...).

Thank you, tomorrow I will exchange for a new one, I hope it is because it is a considerable expense

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an Opel Zafira B 1.9 CDTI experiencing a loss of power and the illumination of the "CAR WITH A KEY" warning light. The user reports that the vehicle operates normally after being turned off and restarted, but the issue recurs after a short period. Responses suggest that the engine may be entering emergency mode due to faults, and recommend checking for vacuum line issues, particularly those connected to the turbo control valve. Error codes P0380 (Glow plug fault), P2279 (Leak detected in the air intake system), and DPF-related codes are mentioned, indicating potential problems with the diesel particulate filter and air intake system. Users emphasize the importance of proper diagnostics rather than merely clearing error codes, and suggest inspecting hoses and the EGR system for leaks.
