Hello everyone. My problem is that when I listen to music it is way too quiet. I have all the sliders at 100% and the green bar that shows the volume of the music is up to half. The card is Realtek with the latest drivers, MOBO MSI B85-G41, and Win 7 Low Sound Issue on Realtek Sound Card, MSI B85-G41 MOBO, Windows 7: Volume Sliders at 100% This is what the greatest volume level looks like. Headphones are good, when I listen to music on my iPhone to the max, you can't have headphones on. It used to be very loud and suddenly it started quietly.

Click below on the "Mixer" inscription, you should open the sound levels of individual applications sending beeps, maybe one is muted.

I reinstalled and there seems to be an improvement on AIMP3 because it plays much louder and Spotify plays quietly, but that's probably because I have the free version. However, it still plays quietly on Youtube.

But here you can see that there is a problem on the programming side! Because the system does not give 100% sound power, otherwise this green bar would fly 100%.

Reinstall all steroids together, starting from the plate.
Then check if, for example, youtube is muted.
Check all the sliders in the programs you play in that they are not muted below.
If it does not help, I put on a Masterpiece diagnosis that I had a similar problem, although I may be wrong.

Rather, it will be a broken codec, because I do not think that the driver dedicated to this codec would do such a number.
    So what? Exchange motherboard?

I just doubt it, because I bought most of the parts together with the album in 2013.
@Edit. I reinstalled all drivers except graphics. Still the same, the system does not give 100% volume.
@ edit2 From what I can see on the website from which I was buying, the album has a 36-month warranty, so you have to give it back.
@ edit3 It is actually possible that something with the motherboard, because my friends complain that when I talk to them on Skype, they hear everything what I listen to.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a low sound issue experienced by a user with a Realtek sound card on an MSI B85-G41 motherboard while using Windows 7. Despite all volume sliders being set to 100%, the audio output remains quiet, particularly on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. Suggestions include checking the audio mixer for muted applications, reinstalling drivers, and using different media players like VLC and AIMP3, which showed some improvement. Concerns were raised about potential hardware issues, such as a damaged codec on the motherboard, leading to inadequate sound output. The user is considering returning the motherboard under warranty due to persistent problems, including audio feedback during Skype calls.
