Hello. My phone rang today - "private number" was displayed. I don't usually answer these calls, but I have some adverts on OLX, so I answered. When I answered, I heard "pi pi pi" and the end of the call. Okay, we got disconnected. But the "number" didn't ring anymore. Well, if someone really wanted to connect, they would try again. Weird, no? Well, a fantasy came to me (stimulated with a beer) - maybe it is some machine that pushes randomly selected numbers, and when someone answers, the machine writes down the active number, i.e. there is a potential deer for sending stupid text messages against various miracles. Maybe they trade lists of such working numbers ... Oh, that's how it came to me. Do you have that too?

Error of the telephone exchange of some telemarketing company that works, for example, for some telecommunications company, bank, insurance company or other reprimanding customers by telephone contact, people used to call now telephone exchanges call and redirect to a live telemarketer, this is such modernity not only that they want to sell the goods on the phone they still make you wait for a connection.

Maybe not so much a bug as the company is not interested in revealing its identity.

You can restrict connections from hidden numbers with your operator. The service is free, all you need to do is call the customer service. Then someone will politely hear that you do not want calls from restricted numbers.

Yes. Only I did not drink or drink, but the machine was saying something to me. And then a series of SMS. You have no idea how many cars and guaranteed prizes I have already "won", if I "picked it up" I would have my family established, my children's families and probably there would be enough for my grandchildren. Maybe it's time to do Basia Kwarc (an episode with a similar story - they didn't give the car ... it's a laptop for! @ # $% $ M)?
I have not been answering restricted numbers for some time. The amount of beaters diminishes over time, but it takes years.

And this is the most annoying when text messages come at 3 am, sometimes on Sundays at 7 am when you sleep best ...
Spammers don't respect us. I do not know how it is profitable for them to send messages such as "you won a million zlotys", since most of them do not read it anyway, and the vast majority will not respond to such a text message. But there is also a group of deer ...

I used to have my phone number in my profile on the electrode, and as long as that was the case, every few weeks, very late in the evening or at night, I had incoming "deaf: anonymous calls. After I deleted my phone number from the profile on the electrode, it became calm. ;)

For me, something like this is common on a landline phone. He can call 5 times a day. Interestingly, nothing like that happens in the cell (also Orange).
It is possible that it actually has something to do with the operation of telemarketers, I blocked all marketing services on my mobile in Orange and I have peace (previously I won from 5 cars, etc.), my number is also not available to the public anywhere.
Unfortunately, landline is not so much publicly available, as my mother once fell for some telemarketer and now the number is circulating because companies trade databases with each other.
Maybe it is actually some machine that checks the hours when someone picks up the phone, so that the telemarketer has a better chance of establishing a connection. And bastards can call late in the evening (21-22).

There are also actions that some number rings, but only one ring. Somewhere at night, or in the morning, like a man asleep. The number looks like a landline with direction to Warsaw or Płock. I don't remember anymore. People call back. And this is a mistake, because after dialing the number you only hear the chirp chirp. At least the sound in the earpiece suggests that. Unfortunately, however, this is a specially recorded sound that pretends that the connection has been terminated. In fact, it is not so and if we do not press the red receiver ourselves, the pulses continue to fly. And the number is redirected somewhere to the sheep islands or something and we have almost PLN 20 / min, and we sleep.

It helped me a bit on the private mobile number (Plus):
    1. Conversation with a telemarketer (let him earn there).
    2. Explaining the situation with nuisance calls and indicating that if they sell someone information that this number is active, I cannot guarantee it for myself.

Oh, the nuisance / intensity of touts is definitely influenced by participation in competitions, e.g. radio. If someone wants to play, he should buy a starter for this occasion, because he may then have to change the number.

I have an old number from ERY (T-Mobile). How many text messages have already been sent that I won this and that, are they surprised at all that I haven't received my prize yet? And I've never played these games. :D

This, unfortunately, does not work. Telemarketers are just doing their job, they don't care if they upset someone - they have to sell the product and that's it. I don't fight them, because it's not their fault - they make them call, they call. This is how they earn their bread.

I once tried to get to the source and twist the head of the case, but unfortunately it is impossible. I asked every telemarketer where he got his phone number from - this information must be provided to me. Unfortunately, it did not help me, because when I called the company he referred to, I found out that they had a number from another and thus, instead of narrowing the circle, it only widened. Instead of the names of 3 companies that I got from telemarketers - I already had another 3. Yes, you can do it forever. You can only ask anyone who calls you to stop processing personal data, which will prevent the company from reselling them or calling again. As a result, in some time our number will cease to be in circulation.

That's what I meant. Someone calls, does his "blah", I do his "blah", and then I explain that there were such situations that my number was kept on. And be warned - if he goes on, I'll find a hobby of claiming my rights. And I can really be mean and relentless. It helps, all the more so because I have enabled the telemarketer to do his job (I know how difficult it is to get a job and I respect it, if the telemarketer respects me, i.e. does not talk to me like a robot or with artificial joy), so he has a debt of gratitude.

There is no debt of gratitude. Like you buy it like that, but he has money to call and a bonus to sell. You might as well not answer at all - nothing would change. What is worse, if, despite establishing the connection, it does not sell, it still gets the head because it is ineffective.
Therefore, there is no point in a deeper discussion, you have to be firm on your own, although be cultured, not take it out on them because it's not their fault.

And rightly so, you have your opinion, but I know how it works - I had a few colleagues who worked in this industry. Unfortunately, they did not work for a long time - they fired for the lack of results because they were too little annoying and sold little. There is constant rotation for this very reason.

    It works like this.
The machine selects consecutive numbers from the database. When someone answers, the call is forwarded to the telemarketer, as long as it is free.
If all telemarketers are busy (e.g. because someone answered earlier than you) - disconnects the connection.
Such activities relieve telemarketers from the inconvenience of looking for calls that someone answers. The machine uses the telemarketer time to the maximum. It does not wait for the call to be answered, but only advertises the product.
Instead of wasting the time of the paid telemarketer - they are wasting our time, which is free from the point of view of the calling company.

Don't be misleading. If someone calls back to the domestic landline or domestic mobile number, regardless of where the recipient switches, the payer is paid according to the tariff of the dialed number, not the number to which the machine will redirect itself. Another thing is that people, without checking the exact beginning of the number, call back the number with the increased payment or the foreign dialing code and additionally increased payment. Then they can actually be charged even more than PLN 30 per minute.

This is a forum to learn something.
I exclude premium numbers and foreign calls.
When I need them, I unlock them and then I lock them again.
Just so that I do not have to wonder how much something can cost me.
I also do not call back numbers that I do not have in the phone book.

Telemarketing is annoying, not to say that it is ... annoying. They could call me well after midnight or early in the morning to pick me up semiconscious and forget to hang up.
When I cut it once, all the money from the account went (and it was ~ PLN 90 because I usually top up 2x50 and I have peace of mind for a long time)
Then a phone call to the operator, blocking all calls and premium SMS, preceded by the threat of reporting the case to the police. The first year had passed and no telemarket had responded.

Telemarketing is a terrible job, maybe the guests were fairly honest and felt remorse after persuading dozens of elderly people to buy insurance or hundreds of women for "branded" underwear.

I don't know why you lost money forgetting to hang up an answered call? After all, you do not pay for calls received in the country (Poland) from any number and from wherever it is.

That's not the case - they just know what "I'm not interested" means. On the other hand, a telemarketer must be like a salesman - you knock him out through the door, he will come back through the window, you will brick the window, and he will take him through the chimney. You don't want linen, maybe bedding, etc.

I don't know how they did it, maybe they called from abroad? The account was empty this morning, anyway.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around receiving calls from "private numbers," which often leads to confusion and annoyance among users. Participants speculate that these calls may originate from telemarketing machines that randomly dial numbers and disconnect if no telemarketer is available. Users share experiences of receiving such calls, often followed by unsolicited text messages claiming prizes or offers. Solutions suggested include blocking calls from private numbers through mobile operators or utilizing built-in call blocking features on Android devices. Some users report success in reducing such calls after taking preventive measures, while others express frustration over the persistence of telemarketers and the potential for scams involving high-cost calls. The conversation highlights the challenges of dealing with telemarketing practices and the importance of protecting personal information.
