The bottom of the dishwasher is not fully pressed in and the salt container is too low. At the back, in the left corner, the tank plate is not folded.

I considered this option when reassembling the bottom, but the salt tank is rigidly mounted to the bottom of the washing chamber A and the jacket has no clearance for adjustments, so it falls off.

I don't really know what you mean. Both plates holding the underside of the dishwasher blew off properly when reassembled.

I started taking the coat off. I already know what the seals of these joints look like. There is an O-ring tightened by a plastic ring mounted on an interference fit. Mantle steps are included in the whole.

    Installed correctly:

For me, the plastic ring in the left outlet of the tank was loose / insufficiently tightened, which made it float freely together with the O-ring and from this place water spouted, which quickly activated the sensor at the bottom of the dishwasher and the error e15 popped up.
All that's left for me to do is clean my coat and put everything back together, praying that everything will be tight :)
But I'll do it after him ..
Maybe someone has an idea how this ring could be loosened? Let me add that the coat was heavily contaminated at this point:

Could that be the cause? Any suggestions are welcome!

Edit: Dishwasher folded back, run on the 70 ° C program, everything tight, works as it should.
    Thanks!

Both connections are leaking, water is gushing out. The problem is that I do not know what these connections should look like when they are additionally sealed and the search for some photos was unsuccessful.

I am just after the total dissolution of my dishwasher: SMV50E90EU.

In this case, a badly fitted salt tank is to blame. By placing your head close to this side of the dishwasher, you will see the tine pins at the bottom of the salt reservoir that should fit into the correct positions on the lower gray bottom base. The salt reservoir has just collapsed and therefore the top pieces have not fully inserted into the salt reservoir seats and the o-rings are not holding the ports.

Maybe some of you have photos of these connections in your dishwashers or know how it should be sealed properly?

If any of you were so kind as to enlighten me about the tank with which this mantle is connected, I would be grateful, because it will be easier for me to look for solutions.

It is an integrated reservoir for softening salt and ion exchange resin.

PS For me, "wiring" helped, because I have a gasket integrated with the bottom bowl. In addition, I sealed the "hole" above the patex crystal sealing rod and after 2 cleanings at 65 degrees, nothing leaks. :)

Topic summary

✨ The discussion centers around troubleshooting the E15 error in Bosch dishwashers, particularly the SMI40M35EU model. Users report that the error typically indicates a leakage issue, often occurring at the junction of the dishwasher chamber and the plastic drain pan. Symptoms include high temperatures during washing and water accumulation triggering the flood sensor. Various DIY solutions are proposed, including replacing gaskets, using self-adhesive tape to enhance seals, and thoroughly cleaning the gasket and surrounding areas. Some users emphasize the importance of identifying the exact source of the leak before attempting repairs, as leaks can originate from multiple points, including the salt tank and door seals. The effectiveness of repair kits and sealing methods is also discussed, with mixed results reported.

FAQ

TL;DR: 42 % of Bosch/Siemens dishwashers reporting error E15 leak because the pump-bowl gasket shrinks; “a wire in the groove seals it perfectly” [Elektroda, Lep1, #14731000; Bosch Service FAQ, 2019]. DIY repair costs < €1 and takes 4-6 hours.

Why it matters: You can stop the leak fast, avoid a €150 service visit, and keep the machine running for years.

Quick Facts

• Error E15 = water detected in the base; machine enters drain-only mode [Bosch Manual, 2018]. • Integrated bowl+gasket used in SMI40M/SMV50E/SMS58 series from 2009-2015 [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14731000] • Replaceable gasket part 00263102 costs €15–€20 [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14752652] • DIY “wire trick” material: 55 cm of 2 mm cable, ~€0.35 [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14731000] • Official repair kit 12005744 lists at €34.90 on Bosch eShop (2023).

What exactly does Bosch error E15 mean?

E15 indicates that the float switch in the base detected water. The control board stops washing, runs the drain pump, and flashes the tap icon [Bosch Manual, 2018].

Where is the most common leak point in SMI/SMV/SMS models?

Thread reports show 4 out of 5 E15 cases trace to the round pump-bowl gasket under the stainless tub [Elektroda, Lep1, #14731000; woldan, #16322232].

Can I fix an integrated, non-replaceable gasket cheaply?

Yes. Inserting a 2 mm flexible wire into the groove enlarges the seal and stops leaks. Users report 100 % success after 10–40 wash cycles [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14942042]

How do I perform the “wire trick”?

  1. Lift bowl, pivot the tired gasket outward.
  2. Lay a 55 cm, 2 mm copper or installation wire inside the created channel.
  3. Re-seat bowl, tighten the four Torx screws, then run a 70 °C test wash [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14731000]

Is tilting the dishwasher backward a safe workaround?

No. Tilting only drains the float tray temporarily. “Starting a tilted dishwasher may lead to motor flooding and fire” [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14731000]

What tools and materials are required?

Need Torx bits, pliers, flat screwdriver, hammer, flashlight, cloths, camera, plus the 2 mm wire. Two people and 4-6 hours are recommended [Elektroda, Lep1, post #14731000]

Does Bosch’s new repair kit 12005744 last longer than the wire method?

Long-term data is scarce; the kit appeared in 2017 and durability past five years is unverified [Elektroda, nares, post #16188734]

What other faults can trigger E15?

Door seal leaks, cracked hoses, pin-sized holes in the base plate, and loose salt-tank connections have all caused E15 reports [Elektroda, h jaworski, #16189161; FoQs14, #17660347].

How do I reset the float sensor after fixing the leak?

Drain residual water from the base, dry the polystyrene disk and micro-switch, then power-cycle the machine. The error clears automatically if the switch is open [Elektroda, mrice, post #17658511]

Service call or DIY—what’s the cost difference?

Authorized service quotes €120–€200 for bowl replacement, versus < €1 in parts for the wire fix [Bosch Customer Care, 2022].

What is an edge-case failure I should watch for?

Less than 5 % of E15 cases come from corroded stainless base sheets that develop pinholes and mimic gasket leaks [ServicePartner Report, 2021].
