Perhaps such a connector is enough. Or even simpler a longer cable.

This element is enough for you if the total cable length does not exceed 100 meters.

Unfortunately, it cannot be! Such because it is for telephones and faxes. It is smaller than it should be RJ45!

I do not recommend this one from castorama, I bought a few of it not so long ago, it did not work. They only connected when you pressed the plugs.
Purchased from Nowy Elektronik, they worked flawlessly.

It depends on what was bought and what it was used for. If an RJ45 connector was purchased and used for cables with RJ11 lugs, only pressing the plug into the socket actually helped.

Yes, I know it's an old topic, but....

I recommend dedicated connectors, no problems with that, for regular UTP:

    Or for shielded FTP cables:

    .

And with such a connector, the transmission speed will not drop? I, on the other hand, need to extend the cable approx. 4 metres, from 12 to 16 metres.

Thank you, this seems like a good option. I wonder if there are any 4 metre ones. I'll have a look, thanks for the lead.

Topic summary

To extend an RJ-45 network cable connected to a router, users can utilize a longer cable or a dedicated RJ-45 connector, ensuring the total length does not exceed 100 meters to maintain connection quality. It is crucial to use the correct type of connector, as some connectors designed for RJ11 may not function properly with RJ-45 cables. Recommendations include using dedicated connectors for UTP and FTP shielded cables to avoid issues. Users have successfully used products like the Ugreen RJ-45 extender without experiencing a drop in transmission speed.
