    Hello,

    1. I want to buy a network cable (RJ-45, 5e, U / UTP) with a length of about 1 meter. The problem is that where I do not look, these cables are from many different companies. I have no idea if any of them are recommendable, and others are so-called "black list" and should be avoided.
    2. I also heard to look for copper cables - OK, but how to recognize that a cable is copper, if there is no mention of it in the (shop) specification?

I wanted to buy something from the above store, but as I say - there are two points above which I have doubts about.
    Possibly which would you recommend?

    Hey.

When it comes to recommended brands, I like the Polish company Madex, TF Kable, as well as cables from Bitner, Draka, Molex and Belden. Of course, there will probably be more interesting producers.

When buying a cable, you should expect the seller to have its specifications. Pay attention to details, because it can be hidden under the abbreviation CCA, CCS - it means respectively Copper Clad Aluminum (copper coated aluminum) or Copper Clad Steel (copper coated steel).

Whatever it is, this is important if you are pulling a long piece of the installation. A one meter long cord, which he would not be, probably will not introduce any drama in the network transmission.

As Chinese printed with Cat 5e often does not meet the requirements of this category (the cables are not certified in any way, the manufacturer acknowledges the category itself for the cable) you can also buy category 6 cables. They have a chance of being of a slightly better quality. But as I wrote, you probably will not see the differences at a one-meter stretch.

    Thanks for the extensive speech.

I think I will give up these apricots, because no cable has the exact specification given. You need to look for the product code on the websites of a given manufacturer. For example, Gembird, quite popular there with the designation PP12-1M, turned out to be:
    Quote:
    Material: AWG26 CCA

    So it's probably out.

I would, however, ask for a direct link, where you can buy cables from the aforementioned producers (not Chinese). No matter what store, even Allegro comes into play (although there are only twisted pairs from Madex).

    RJ-45, straight, 5e, U / UTP, copper.

I take from them and never had a problem - link - I suspect it will not be Chinese when you do it yourself.

I think it is a slight exaggeration. Yes, if you buy a cable that costs PLN 2 for 20 m, it will not be good, but with a length of 1 m it should not have any meaning.
The one with allegro looks legit, but if he really is copper, it's hard to say. I use the LogiLink 5m patchcord, UTP 5E, it cost something like 6.43 and it has been used for a long time.

length of 1 meter is almost on whatever it should work, another 50,70,100 meters.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around purchasing a 1-meter RJ-45 5e U/UTP network cable, with a focus on identifying reliable brands and ensuring the cable is made of copper rather than aluminum or steel. Recommended brands include Madex, TF Kable, Bitner, Draka, Molex, and Belden. Users emphasize the importance of checking specifications for terms like CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) and CCS (Copper Clad Steel) to avoid subpar products. A specific product from Allegro was mentioned as potentially suitable, claiming to be 100% copper. Overall, a 1-meter cable is deemed sufficient for most applications, with less concern over quality compared to longer cables.
